    Wait, this Gravity Falls?

Current irk is LinkedIn, which really makes my skin crawl.

I used LinkedIn when I was a recruiter. It's like Facebook but instead of cat pics it's 'funny' graphs mixed with random musings from CEOs whose comment sections consist of "what an insightful post. P.s. gizza job".

I never understood how people that do that didn't understand that it was completely transparent. If I was recruiting for a company of my own, I'd be inclined to disregard the sort of workaholic weirdo that writes lengthy posts about their field on there in their spare time in a naked attempt to make themselves marketable and choose someone that looks like they've spent time honing valuable skills with a healthy work/life balance.

Worse still are the people I know who bury the truth under mountains of euphemisms and imaginative interpretations of reality. When it was hitting the fan at HMV a couple of years ago, all of the lower managers at one of the larger stores hurriedly portrayed themselves as being responsible for running the whole store instead of individual departments and used exactly the same figures and statistics to support their creative versions of the truth. You'd have thought that I was working under a race of near-identical supermen, instead of the type of people who barely left their tiny offices and were widely held in contempt by their subordinates.

LinkedIn is nothing more than an online address book for me. The single thing of value to me is that if someone moves job I can get their new contact details easily on it. Nothing else is remotely interesting and the endorsement thing is a joke. I have been endorsed over and over for things I can't do by people I hardly know so they are meaningless.

I use Unblock-US, but that's not always enough.

Of course, sticking to the notion of the irk, I shouldn't have to use Unblock-US in this day-and-age.

It's a spamnest of self promoting nonsense.

I'm aware of two people on there (one's a friend of my mums, the other of someone I went to school with) and both put they have degrees on there yet neither past their ****ing gcses. My mums friend has never even ****ing worked and she's like 42.

I keep getting ResearchGate invites for a Stuart Walker at University of Calgary. All well and good, but it's not me.

I haven't updated mine since I graduated. I probably should, as it makes me look like I've been out of work for a year and a half. Or I could just delete it entirely and not play that particular game anymore.

Have you tried they vpn option? I haven't yet but I'm pretty sure you can use it for CN. The DNS method falls down because you have a direct connection after the initial chit-chat with their server. As you said, their adverts play but the episodes don't. Sounds similar to some posts I read on the unblock-us forum about how it will fake your region for the PSN store in another country. If you buy or rent a film from a PSN store outside your country you won't get a region warning and the payment will go through but the film will never play and you're stuck. I think they've fixed it but only for PSN, XBL, etc.

Is it possible to have a hangover before you've even sobered up? Just on the train back to Oxford after two heavy drinking days with friends in London. Awesome, but currently painful.

I get hangovers before I've finished drinking. I blame being skinny and taking several years off the sauce.
