thanks been riding for years and never had any real problems but Dalbeattie ‘beat me’ hardest place Iv ridden esp on my own

Op went ok so well pleased with that and it seems that I have movement back in my arm again although early days and physio will give me complete freedom again
It’s weird not having the use of an arm for 4 months but had one of the best shoulder surgeons so that made me smile. He also said he wouldn’t mess up my tattoos on my shoulder which me me laugh (and he hasn’t)

it couldn’t of been easy dealing with a broken wrist and elbow at the same time damn!!

Looking forward to looking for weird old games while I'm there. They have an amazing shop in the MBK called O-Corner run by a guy with an insane collection of super rare stuff. There's another place with more cheapo stuff too, picked up a Sansui Famicom pad and a few Japanese Saturn games last time I was there.
Love travel and planes as well. Especially crca-80s planes like JALs 737s, if they still fly those. And finding retro goodness in a place wher market isn't ruined. Seems anything but sad sack to me.

My twice-annual trip used to be to Japan. Haven't been since 2019 with marriage/quick divorce/remarriage within the same year. Never been away from Japan, Shonan particularly, this long. Miss it so very badly.

Had our first child two days ago so seems firmly in the past now, especially as my major jaunts to Japan were the summer ones spent in Enoshima and traveling up and down on the JR Rail Rail Pass, and the brilliant new freeway toll pass Times Car Rental introd a few years back. Ripped it across Western japan in a little nissan on that thing for about 9000y flat rate where I'd have pad maybe 40,000y in toll fees otherwise.

Doesn't help I'm also in a large ish city without a singular Japanese-owned sushi restaurant, just the subpar ones otherwise. At least serviceable ongiris can be had.

JAL don't have the -400's anymore...
JAL (JTA) B737-400 Kansai 2002 - this one is still flying for a Chinese cargo airline following a freighter conversion

        ...but they still have 737's of the 800 variety;
JAL B737-800 Kansai 2011 - still active (as of the current time this one has just done a flight from Kitakyushu (JAL378) and is currently at Haneda)

              Lol that's sick.

Still annoyed at that guy for refusing to sign my SOR2 cart though

Did something unintentionally cool and awesome yesterday with witnesses.

Was sat on my own at a table at the end of lunch and 3 staff on a neighbouring table. There's a Sharpie randomly in the middle of my table and one of the girls says it's annoying can I just move it.

I think fine, I'll just be cheeky and throw it behind me to hit the wall without looking (and hopefully miss the pc behind me) in one quick moment.

Not only did I miss the monitor (I was bricking it for a second incase I hit it) but it supposedly flew gracefully in the air and landed perfectly in a narrow coffee cup on the desk behind me. The girls went from laughing wtf I was doing to them all gaping and pissing themselves laughing hard how amazing it was.

I think I've hit my peak of coolness

Reminds me of a time back in school. Batteries in my Walkman died, so rather than walk over to the bin, I just lobbed them in that general direction...just as my housemaster walked through the door adjacent to the bins and narrowly avoided being hit by my errant throw. 2hrs detention per battery.

Sadly, that was likely my peak of coolness.

                    USB-C.

Sure, it can get confusing with all the terminologies but I recently needed to get some files off my old Kindle and went through EIGHT Micro USB cables until I found one that would also carry data.

Every single USB-C cable I have just works. Heck, I can charge my mouse using my laptop’s PSU.

Good thing it wasn’t a Game Gear or else that would’ve been 12 hours of detention!

I second USB-C. I plug one cable into my Macbook and the other end into a lenovo monitor and I have video to the monitor, 4xUSB ports available and it's charging the laptop. All off one cable.

I like USB-C as well, though for big charging jobs they are not all made equal apparently.

The inventor of the USB stick died recently.
At the funeral, they put the coffin in, then took it out, turned it the right way and put it back in again...

Can't believe you've not mentioned USB-C is the first USB cable that works either way around.

Yeah USB-C is such a great upgrade. It’s just a shame that we still even have micro USB knocking about on stuff still. It’s dying out at least.

The Switch was one of the first mainstream devices to really take advantage of it I think. In fact I’m not sure how the Switch dock would have worked without USB-C. They might have needed a proprietary port instead, or to have a more awkward setup where you lowered it onto one prong for power, one for video.

I'm mostly using USB-C to USB-A cables so there's still a bit of coffin adjustment, but good catch!

Hilariously, now I can't find a Mini-USB cable anywhere at home so my Dual Shock3 is sitting there all forlorn
