        You know that trailer thing of having a moody cover version of a well known song that goes epic? And so many trailers have them now that I just find them pretty comical. Well through letting Apple Music play a bunch of random stuff at me earlier, I discovered that there are musicians really cashing in on this. It’s a like a whole genre of it’s own and I had no idea until today. There are a bunch of them but one example is called Hidden Citizens. Just go browse some of their albums from the last few years. Their tracks are even labelled ‘epic trailer version’ and they are all almost identical - different song, exact same format. And they’re not the only ones. I don’t know why this makes me laugh but it does. I think it’s the idea of someone saying “you know what? I’m going to get in on that trailer cover version action”.

          I think they're all following on from that act, "Two Steps from Hell" who solely make trailer music and nothing else. They absolutely raked it in during the 2010s.

            For John Lewis 2022 Xmas Advert I'm going to submit an epic slow ballad cover version of that old hit song, the one about the tragic story about the woman and the itsy, bitsy, teeny, weeny yellow polka dot bikini. You know? The one that she wore for the first time day?

            ... Aw yeah...

              Y'see you joke but while describing this I could hear it in my head.

              "<muted trumpets>in the water
              IN the WAAATER
              the wateeeeeeeeer (primal wail) <DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUN>
              <thunder rings out>
              <pause>
              She wanted

              To staaaaaaaaay."

                Think of a song that was no1 when you were 8...slow it down 40%, get a random female singer... Profit.

                I blame John Lewis Xmas adverts.

                    That reminds me of something you've probably seen (it's probably even been posted here) but I'm going to post it anyway:

                    For some reason I never get tired of watching this. I'm so hyped for FILM TITLE by the end!

                      Yeah, it's funny and entirely accurate.

                            Brilliant! But what would be advertised with that?

                              I'd blame any advert from Llllloyds Bank over the past year or so.
