How lucky was she with the boots as well? Would've been cooked before he even got to her otherwise.

Sure, just random awards, but still chuffed for Tunic and Vampire Survivors. Play them!

Find My iPhone is a god send.

My phone fell out of my pocket in an Uber yesterday and thanks to that feature I was able to track the taxi's movements, even after the phone had been turned off. The driver told me during the ride home that he lived close to where I'd been picked up, so when the phone stopped moving in that area I went over to ask for it back, which he kindly agreed to do.

There was a bit of luck involved. The car wasn't parked directly outside of his house and he opened his front door to see people off just as I was passing by.

It was a reminder that too much of our lives is tied to mobile phones though. I couldn't log into Uber's website on my PC as it insisted on sending a passcode to my mobile phone. I wanted to double check my insurance but again, logging in to the website requires a passcode be sent to your mobile phone. Same again for the NHS website that lists appointments I have this week. You're a bit snookered if you need access to services quickly.

To alleviate the issue of over-dependence on your phone for 2FA codes, you can use a password manager service like 1Password. It has Google Authenticator/Authy style one-time-password functionality built-in, accessible from both desktop and mobile. So in a situation where you don't have access to your phone, you can just use your PC/Mac to get a 2FA code instead.

Young pilot guided back to runway after losing landing gear

21-year-old Taylor Hash successfully piloted two solo flights, but her third turned terrifying when she lost some of her landing gear mid-air. Even for the most experienced pilots, being forced to land without your front tire is far from ideal. But for a newer pilot, the situation is downright petrifying. Highly-experienced pilot Chris Yates was also flying nearby, and when he saw the landing gear detach from the plane, he immediately picked up his radio to find the distressed pilot.

Chris Yates is not only a veteran pilot, but he’s the former director of aviation at SpaceX, and a dad. In the radio’s audio recording obtained by Today, Chris asks for the pilot’s name. After she answers, he pauses for several seconds, briefly overcome with emotion. "Taylor, this is Chris," he said over the radio. "My daughter's name is Taylor and I taught her to fly. We're going to be just fine, kiddo."
When he learned that the woman in the other plane had the same name as his own daughter, something inside of him kicked into high gear. With dad mode activated, Yates knew exactly what he had to do. He was going to help Taylor land her plane, calmly talking her through it every step of the way.

Chris kept his cool throughout the ordeal, which in turn helped Taylor do the same. He gave her step-by-step instructions, but eased the tension by asking her questions about her life. He learned that she wanted to be a professional pilot, he joked about the incredible story she’d have after landing. It doesn’t matter whose kid it is, when times are tough, dads are gonna dad. Chris, thinking about his own daughter Taylor, stayed on the radio with the panicked pilot until she was safely on the ground and out of harm’s way. He warned her that the front of her plane would dip upon landing, repeating a reassuring “you’re ok” as she touched town. Both pilots broke down in tears of relief, as Chris threw in one final dad phrase. "Atta girl,” he said earnestly, “I'm proud of you!"

Hearing some really positive news on the radio about England's women's football team/ The lionesses' official kit to be changed from white shorts to blue. Sounds like a daft thing but it really makes a difference in women's sports in confidence when it comes to period concerns. As someone who had awful experiences with such things until she changed her GP to get her issues checked out rather than being fobbing off, I'm glad such thought and effort has finally been done to address such a thing, seems small but it makes a big difference.

Also had a little kid in today who specifically told his mum he MUST see the dentist as he had pain (5 year old). Ran over to give the dentist a hug after he repaired his tooth with a filling (had to warn the dentist the child was running in for the kill as he was sat facing away and I was sure he was gonna elbow the kid in the face if he wasn't careful swinging back.)

I didn't get a hug but it was very cute and nice to be appreciated.
