We are a family of five and we live in Denmark, one of the most expensive countries in the world to live in and Denmark doesn't burn waste, doesn't like coal, doesn't have any mountains or waterfalls, doesn't do nuclear, so when the wind doesn't blow, it burns gas and biofuels (neither of which it produces) to generate electricity.

Hottest summer on record, tick. Ineffectual government, tick, massive national debt, tick. Fuel prices skyrocketing, tick, strikes over pay, tick, threats of winter blackouts, tick. Constant worry the Cold War might escalate and end in nuclear holocaust, tick. About the only thing missing is the IRA bombing mainland Britain every three months so cheer up, it's really not that bad.

If its successful they're already working on its sequel: "Back to the 1980s" featuring the joys of mass unemployment, any heavy industry actually left finally disappearing forever and near civil war. Can't wait for that.

Question is will the soundtrack to either production be as good as the originals? I doubt it.
You missed soaring mortgage rates too, the saying people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones works really well here, The Torys have been banging on about Labour taking us back to the 70s yet they managed to deliver it 100%.

I don't believe the Tories can ever again bring up Labours failings. They've ****ed the country like no other.

So that's what Bulb (that bankrupt energy company running on government funds) are saying is the difference between what the unit costs would have been had they not been capped.

Prior to this, the prices had changed from

Electricity: 27.627p to 33.017p per kWh and standing charge from 44.750p to 45.768p per day.

Gas: 7.282p to 10.236p per kWh and standing charge from 27.219p to 28.484p per day.

Those uncapped rates really would have been crippling.

The Tories diligent work to defend the poor, defenceless energy firms has paid off as Shell reports its profits have doubled yet again to $9.5bn in the last quarter

New EU efficiency regulations effectively banning sales of 8K TVs could have a massive ripple effect.

From 31 March 2023 the EU will impose an energy efficiency change of rules that by default will ban all 8K TV sales killing the market until companies can produce lower powered versions

The issue most are still facing is that their energy bills had already climbed to stupid levels before the cap, very little has been done about this and its going to see millions not able to heat their homes this winter.

Because 8K TVs are the problem here. Not, you know, energy firms.

It’s not like there’s an abundance of 8k material to view anyway.

We've obviously been over-paying via DD as our bills have just come out and our DD is staying the same and we've still got an abundance of credit in the accounts.

What's the point of having a smart meter if it doesn't help them calculate properly.

Because not only has it been made legal to rob everyone for overpriced energy but somehow its been made legal for them to steal via doubling your DD as well. Whole thing is disgusting.

My desktop pc draws more power than any 8k tv. Are they going to ban that too?
