Hottest summer on record, tick. Ineffectual government, tick, massive national debt, tick. Fuel prices skyrocketing, tick, strikes over pay, tick, threats of winter blackouts, tick. Constant worry the Cold War might escalate and end in nuclear holocaust, tick. About the only thing missing is the IRA bombing mainland Britain every three months so cheer up, it's really not that bad.
If its successful they're already working on its sequel: "Back to the 1980s" featuring the joys of mass unemployment, any heavy industry actually left finally disappearing forever and near civil war. Can't wait for that.
Question is will the soundtrack to either production be as good as the originals? I doubt it.

So that's what Bulb (that bankrupt energy company running on government funds) are saying is the difference between what the unit costs would have been had they not been capped.
Prior to this, the prices had changed from
Electricity: 27.627p to 33.017p per kWh and standing charge from 44.750p to 45.768p per day.
Gas: 7.282p to 10.236p per kWh and standing charge from 27.219p to 28.484p per day.
Those uncapped rates really would have been crippling.

What's the point of having a smart meter if it doesn't help them calculate properly.Last edited by fishbowlhead; 27-10-2022, 13:13.
