Given that most households have at least one set, avoiding them all nearly doubling their consumption (average 4K power draw is about 80W), is fairly sensible I'd suggest, given there are approximately 200 million households across the EU.
Most PCs aren't drawing more than 140W the vast majority of the time - when I was running my mining rig it was drawing 220-260W (depending on the algorithm). An Xbox Series X on full tilt is drawing about 150W - few people have RTX 4090s running at 100% several hours a day.
The hysteria I've seen over this is as ridiculous as the hysteria over stopping the sale of incandescent lightbulbs and limiting the power of vacuum cleaners.Last edited by MartyG; 30-10-2022, 12:07.
