What baffles me is why Trump an Vance can't get their heads around the fact Putin is wanted on charges of being a war criminal and yet they re in discussion with him.
Hopefully we in Europe will put a collective arm around Zelensky and if necessary go it alone.

Honestly - I don't for one second believe that discussions with Putin around a peace deal are being had at all.
There's a reason that Trump has been quick to say they're nearing an agreement but won't give any details on it, same as there's a reason it's always behind closed doors. The same reason as to why Zelenskyy was made to sit on TV for his talk and be torn down publicly, the same again as to why in the days beforehand Trump paraded himself schmoozing Starmar and Macron.
There is no peace deal, no talks - the entire thing is a set up to ultimately justify America's full withdrawal from support of Ukraine. Same as how people say Putin will stop short of invading a NATO member country - it's why Trump is eager to have America withdraw and help bring down NATO too. It's how Musk is allowed so much traction with Trump, Trump is largely governed by his own childish ego - a touch of sucking up and he'll be compliant with almost anything. He has zero political allignment - for all the bending over the GOP and Republican voters ahve done, he's not a Republican. He couldn't give two ****'s about them, he's solely self-interested and is completely selling the nation out - old enough and in a position powerful enough to get away with it, whilst still not intelligent enough to realise he's not actually in charge and is merely puppeting the wishes of others.
If there's any intelligence amongst the Trump family I suspect it lies ever so slightly with his children. It's not a compliment of them, but I think there's a reason that so far during this second term they're keeping much more distance.Comment
