UK net migration reached 606,000 in 2022 - driven by arrivals from outside the EU.

Something else highlighting how Being part of Europe was not creating a migration Problem, most migrants coming into the UK where and are coming from outside Europe. I'm not sure how they will explain how they have "Taken back control of our borders" with figures of net migration increasing by 20% and hitting 606,000 Depite brexit being in full effect. Another failed Tory manifesto promise too, one of their key polices was to cut Net Migration to below 245,000, i wonder how they will spin this. Theirs gonna be some AngryGammons out their today looking to join an even more right wing party.

      Hilarious

Sunak says 660,000 net migration is too high but the system isn't out control
      Which means it's under control
Which means the Tories have risen it on purpose

He also basically says that he can't be blamed for the high immigration because he inherited 500,000 from the previous government. Which was in the same term. Which he was in. Which was the same party. So... hmm.

When they can't even find a way to blame Labour anymore for stuff you know they're sunk

I never took it as her trying to wiggle out of it, just not wanting to be in a room with lots of other people, some of whom might recognise who she was and basically give her gip and abuse the entire time of the course. Hence the request for a one to one session. Sorry dear, you've got to face up to the public sooner or later for your vile actions as a Cabinet Minister...

Ofgem have reduced the energy price cap to £2074 per year however with the government payments having ended it's still anticipated many households will be paying more as this winter draws in
It's still 80% higher than 2020, despite wholesale prices being 60% lower than 2020.

You'd think it would be an easy win for the Tories to fix peoples energy bills and lay the smack-down on ofgem and the profiteering going on at present, No doubt the reason they don't is they would be stepping on another Tory party member/Donors toes if they sorted out the issues here.

Sorting out the supermarkets could also be a big win as its been widely reported that the UK supermarkets have been driving down costs for produce but still hiking its prices, which is clearly profiteering. They have discovered that people will pay for items at the higher price if their forced too, which is a massive win for them as they can now make much higher margins on their products.

The amount of price fixing going on in supermarkets is insane and going completely unchecked. Regulators need to get off their backsides and actually go into stores to check on practices. Saying prices aren't over inflated is pointless if supermarkets are setting lower priced products are reasonable price points but then purposely not stocking them so that consumers are forced into having to buy the overpriced ones which is happening across the board atm

Agreed. It's ****ing outrageous. I see they are now putting anti-shoplift tags on butter and putting cheddar in those lockboxes that have to be opened at the till too, no doubt due to the rise in shoplifting of these essentials by desperate people.

Supermarkets have been accused of "greedflation" - putting prices up to bolster profits.

One thing I took away from this report on Sainsbury's allegedly profiteering from inflation pushing prices up is that it's obviously such a common practice in supermarkets that they've invented the term "greedflation".

Well, I'll tell you something... If they don't do something about the prices, I'll shake my fist and pay them anyway!!

Oh man, I noticed this last time I was in Tesco; it was on something daft like steak.

To be fair it's actually been on the pricey steaks for a while. I was shocked to see it's now on spreadable butter a sad indictment of the state of affairs.

Depends on where your supermarket is, though - it had never previously been on them at my place.

I'm sure the Turkey Dinosaurs have them on in wildspace outposts like Middlesbrough.
