Noth Korea unveiled copies of the MQ-9 and RQ-4 drones, and even publishes a video with one of the firing a missile; the video is probably fake, given the drone is firing what looks like a Hellfire. The drones themselves appear to be genuine though, and have apparently have alredy taken flight.
North Korea unveiled two new unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that closely resemble known U.S. drone models on Thursday, signaling via state media that the country is well on its way to achieving both combat and reconnaissance drone capabilities. It is unclear when Pyongyang began developing the new drones, but their reveal comes around two and […]

Trumps former Lawyer has said that the evidence against the former President is overwhelming
(1) Trump is found guilty of crimes which, if nothing else, permanently bar him from being US president again
(2) Trump is elected as president, or, if (1) happens too early for that, it's very obvious Trump would win if not barred
This will set the will of the US electorate in a headlong clash with the US Judiciary; i.e. it pits democracy directly against common law in a way that has never been historically tested, at least not in modern times. Judges in the US are (mostly) elected; however, it's not unlike Trump to ignore inconvenient details and use that as a chance to brand them as "the deep state" or whatever bull**** plays to his supporters at that given moment.
Things could get very ugly.

But the point still stands; if he gets elected and found guilty, perhaps even in a way that requires imprisonment, what happens then? It starts to become a farce.

Well technically he can run his presidency from his prison cell - but I don't disagree it'd be a farce. A president being able to pardon himself has not yet been tested in US law either, I'd imagine that's the path we'd see trodden if it happened.
Originally posted by Asura View PostYeah; you're right that prisoners in the USA are not, necessarily, disenfranchised. There are crimes which do that, but I don't think Trump is dealing with that.Last edited by MartyG; 28-07-2023, 18:17.

As he'd never be placed in a prison environment it could be that he'd be house arrested to the White House for the 4 terms but for the Republicans there'd be no end of headaches. Imagine the trouble of the last term he served with the added issues of having a known criminal as your leader who would undoubtedly spend his entire time trying to use his power to wriggle out of his post-Presidency situation rather than on anything at all they want. Regardless of what happens for Trump followers, his next term would be his last so they're racing to a cliff edge rather than laying the groundwork away from him and back to more manageable ground. It's a sign of weakness that they've failed so spectacularly to leave him behind.
