The only Nob here is Rafa , Liverpool's bench is worse than it was under Graham Souness. A man who I blame for destroying Liverpool in the 1st place
I really don't agree. I suppose you could point the finger the Gillet & Hicks, poor player performances, but today we were out played and didn't perform well in certain areas. We owe Rafa for Torres and a great attacking team last season.

Bar Torres , and Captain fantastic, you're not threat up front , as was so clear today . If you can't beat Spurs , you're going to win no Premiership imo . Now before you jump on my comments and call me a knob again . I just say, I truthfully want Liverpool to win the league , but your bench and manager don't inspire any confidence.

Ohhhhh,, lets make a substitute after 60 min's , how predicable..., and wants the point, in high long balls , when Liverpool lack strikers that have height , much less score with their head ???

      Over to you , Rafa

None of the top four won at White Hart Lane last season.

Think Liverpools biggest problem today was how much they missed Alonso.

When i say that i mean there were times when gerrard needed that first time quick pass to get him in behind the Spurs midfield but it never happened and the times when Gerrard dropped back into Midfield there was no one in the hole he had left to get on the end of his passes.

So i guess Liverpools Strength in depth may come into quesion and just maybe Glen Hoddles point of Spurs squad is better than Liverpools man for man and more strength in depth is also a fair shout but its only the first game of the season and spurs deserved there win, no need for panic stations just yet.

Liverpool lost how many game last season ???. 1 more to go, and its good night . I'll just say, under Rafa , you've got no chance , not with that joke of a front bench

Little early to be declaring the sky is falling yet isn't it?

Liverpool were outplayed by an impressive looking Tottenham but I hardly think this one match is going to define their season.

Of the big four, the only team that has looked genuinely impressive this weekend has been Arsenal.

Anyone writing off Liverpool just because of that match are overreacting big time. We had a good day, Liverpool had a bad day, it happens.

I think Glazza is right. Even if Lucas has a great game at what he does.... which only really seems to be breaking up oppositions play from what I've seen... then it's like we have two Macheranos. We need someone with a good football brain, vision and fairly consistant quality. That was Alonso. I'm sure Aquilani will do well, but we have to wait 6 weeks and then hope he adapts quick style. So ok, maybe we can quiz Rafa's judgement on that signing and his faith in Lucas. Maybe we need to have more faith in Lucas and realise that there's a lot more games to go?

To be honest, I wasn't convinced we'd go to Spurs, first game of the season and piss the ball all up their goal. Far from it. They did well.

To make out BeachBoy is the answer makes me laugh . You know its not about playing well , looking impressive , its about winning and grinding out a result .
Man Utd were utter sh9 today , but they still won , that's been the difference , since the start of the Premiership .

Time to get rid of the sh8t that is Rafa , 5 years in and multi millions spent , and Liverpool are still way off title contenders imo

No, it's time for you to get out. Get in your own Cardiff thread and ramble on to yourself in there. Kinda like Smurfy

It makes me laugh to see these comments about Rafa has to go. Last season we came 2nd, and after the first competitive game of the new season he suddenly needs to go???. I see no logic in that I'm afraid.

We sold 2 first teamers and have bought (arguably) 2 better replacements. Noted that one is injured tho'.

A backup striker (Tuncay/Negredo (sp?), and Milner from Villa would be my targets.

Jeez, we're mid table after one game and people are acting like we're doomed. I wonder how the blue side of Merseyside are feeling????

Mate, he (Team Ambrosia or whatever his name is) was at it last season too if I remember correctly. Take no notice.

I agree. Our squad needs strengthening.

There is a case for saying Liverpool miss Alonso for sure. But almost the entire team were terrible.

Liverpool played very badly. Its not just a matter of a key part of Liverpool's system not being there, its also because they were crap. Spurs also played well.

Remind me again the 1st choice strikers Liverpool can boost ? , you finished 2nd under old ROY , but still won nothing .
Look at the Bench and the Front Team squad, and Liverpool aren't title contenders . Oh that's right singing a injured replacement Alberto Aquilani is going to make all the difference, for a player with an established injury problem , Roma must be laughing all the way to the bank

Hmmmm...first half was absolutely awful. Babel got a huge show of confidence from Rafa and basically did nothing of note the entire afternoon. Lucas and Insua both played well, everyone else not so much. Carra and Skrtel both obviously suffered after the clash of heads.
Second half was an improvement and after Yossi came on we actually looked half decent. If fit he has got to start every game.

Anyway, nothing to worry about just yet.
