Welcome to the real world of Football , a world were most clubs find them self's , even Man Utd (and its not like they've spent big this year) and don't give me this stuff, over the owners not letting Raffa spend , 24 million on Torres , 17 million on Mascherano, 11 million on Babel ECT .
That's right, Liverpool aren't allowed to spend money and that's looking over how much Rafa went through , before the Americans took over , which most Liverpool fans were all in favour off, I seem to remember .

Raffa just isn't good enough , to grasp the Premiership.

Any credibility of your points of view are null and void after such a ridiculous
Mascherano is ok for a mid table Prem side , but a top flight side like Liverpool , nah not imo , and he's not worth 17 million .

    Maradona
Yes he a lot to prove and learn , just ask Ecuador . The best footballer the world as ever seen he is , A lot to prove as a Manager though .

Most teams struggle at ecuador my friend due to their stadium being over 2500m above sea level.

I can't help but wonder whether your judging players like Masc based on what your current game of Football Manager tells you on your PC.

As liverpool could have got quite a bit of dosh for Mascherano, say they sold him, who would you buy realistically? i.e not essien or yaya toure etc because they wouldn't move here.

Apparently, Xabi made more tackles and interceptions than Masch on average last season. Alonso was a clever player and was in the right position so didn't always to run.
Masch runs and runs and runs. That gives you something else, it puts the opposition on edge and hurries them. If Masch forces an error that someone else picks up, he gets no statistical benefit - beware of stats. His distribution is a lot better than before - he won't ping it but he will play it more. Provides good support too.
Mascherano is one of the finest around at his position, I think he is better than Yaya personally. It would appear that Guardiola does too.

PS Maradona has also beaten France and Russia away. The jury is out but the South American qualifiers are a strange beast.

I know I'm convinced from that unsourced article from a site I've never heard of!

            *edit*

606 says the source is Talk Sport radio who said "an unnamed manager has walked from a premier league club". At the moment I call BS.

Yeah, I didn't think much of it myself but the rumour is growing after I read all the posts on 606, so I thought I would share.

                Talksport, what a source!

                What an arsehole: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...-sports-direct

It is a real shame that these types of fans exist, MU fans are not, generally, like this. That is scummy.
                No more personalised shirts either.

                Minority ruins for majority again.

Gerrard with an obscene bit of skillage.

Much better overall but the lack of quality on the Alonso ball meant we gave it away a bit. Lucas and Masch are just not as quick in the head. Good goals though and Johnson is great going forward.

Exactly, i don't really think any Liverpool fan really blinked about it, perhaps some of the neutrals may migrate over to the Utd thread for a bit with their crystal ball.

Much harder competition again this year and a good confidence building result, looking forward to the highlights. Sounds from Sky like Lucas had a good game, not the lads biggest fan but maybe he just hasn't had a decent run to prove himself, well done to the lad.

Just got back from the game. Yus! I thought we played really well. Thought Masch had a good game. I'm glad we kept the passing simply and having players wanting the ball, getting into space. Safe is the way without that quality Alonso style player at the moment. Lucas does well (apart from giving the ball away a couple of times), but I really think when Aquilani's fit he will have to sit on the bench... unless Aquilani turns out to be worse. Lucas could be back up for Masch.

                          Thought Johnson looked amazing.

Oh we've signed Sotirios Kyrgiakos. Some experienced back up. Thought Ayala looked safe tonight. Positive stuff.

Johnson was great last night and the youngster Ayala played well too.

I think you're right about Lucas he's playing well but will drop to the bench when Aquilani is fit.

A good result for us overall v happy.
