In a way (not all ways though!) it is a bit sad that Liverpool can be so so so **** and still be so close to City, Villa and Spurs who are all having "very good" seasons. It was kind of the same with Arsenal recently too - utter ****e but still get that spot.

I hope we do it, just a run of a few games....please!

I thought the difference of having Reina in goal to start our moves was massive. Lucas worked hard as did Masch and Aquilani was very neat and expansive. I am worried about his work rate - partly tiredness/stamina - but we would find it tricky with him and Gerrard if neither tracked back.
Great to see Riera back. Many complain about his end product but he brings people in and creates plenty of space. Degen and Kuyt ran and ran. Kyriagos and Skrtel did their jobs and Carra ran hard. It is still disappointing to see so many wasted opportunities but we need a couple of two goal wins. We look so shaky with a goal.

I see MagBoss has cussed Liverpool, calling them 'disrespectful' over this whole loan rumour thing for Lazy Kenwyne.

Please tell me his source for basing this comment on isn't the rumour mill (made-up ****e) of the gutter press?

That will make him an even bigger laughing stock than when Sunderland get ringed by Pumpy this weekend in the cup.

Actually, maybe not. He'll probably play one up front.

That does seem to be all he is basing it on, he admits nobody from Liverpool has been in contact with him or the club about a loan or anything else. So it's just the stories that started (I think) in the Mail that this is all about.

Despite that, he still has the gall to vent his spleen to the media, accusing Benitez and the club of being "crazy" and "disrespectful", yet at the same time acknowledging that no-one from Liverpool has actually approached Sunderland about any such deal. You have to wonder if this guy even thinks about what he says before he opens his mouth.

          What a fat-headed idiot.

The bit where he compares Kenwyne Jones to Steven Gerrard was funny, though.

Even more amusingly it looks like Niall Quinn has been talking to LFC about this behind Fat-head's back.

Jones is a lazy pompous knobhead. I've not forgotten his behaviour at Southampton. He'll undoubtedly score goals for you, though; hell, he has in our shambles.

I'd like to see him go for 10 mil, which doubles the club's investment.

Listening to the game on the radio and it all sounds dreadful. Not sounding like we'll be taking any points to be honest.

John Aldridge is being wound up by Insua and reckons Aquilani should be on for Lucas. Needs a creative midfielder to put a foot on the ball. Two scrapper holding midfielders is great, but need someone to be creative.

Yeah I heard it on the radio.

At least we got a point. Another ugly match. Head tennis overdrive.

I got up at half 4 to watch the game.. Now I wish I hadn't. It was awful. The players need to be blamed for this one not the manager. The first 10 minutes were fine, we were passing quickly and moving around well, then after that the same crap as usual. The players couldn't string a pass, kept hitting hit and hope balls and long passes and no width at all. All this from quite early on in the first half.

No, how can anyone blame the manager when the players can't pass I'm not sure, but what I saw was the players looking like they were satisfied with a point!! Against a league struggler!!

How can we beat Spurs then struggle against Wolves who even had the best chance to score. We've got a couple of home games now then a couple of away back to back. 3 of those games are Everton, Arsenal and Man City. So will we win all those because they aren't struggling like Wolves and Stoke as such??

We're proper rubbish. But I think you can't blame any one specific person.

Gerrard was absolutely awful and was copping quite a bit of stick from people around me.

                          The whole team is awful.

Yeah, it was a terrible game.
These are the kind of games you look to your captain and best player to give you something - even if he's having a bad game you want him to show leadership and drive on and encourage his team mates. He gave absolutely nothing and I hope he was carrying an injury otherwise the performance was not acceptable, being rubbish I can deal with, being lazy I cannot.

It's pretty clear the entire team is utterly demoralised when they should've been riding high on the pretty favourable results at the weekend. Villa and Man City wins will wipe out the ground you've gained recently.

Think the manager has to take a big portion of the blame. One or two players under performing is down to the players, an entire team is down to the manager. It's the managers job to lift the players and use a carrot or stick approach to get them performing.
