We played ****. Simple pass failure syndrome kicked in again. A bit clueless in final third. Full backs and wingers not up to very much.

Dunno how the ref missed Fabregas' hand ball at the end there though.

Joke of a performance really, i saw that coming. Howard Webb did his usual best to make sure we got sod all from the game, but still.

Annoying, but not a huge blow. Man City is the game we MUST win...

Wonder if there's any chance of having Benayoun, Johnson and Carragher back for that, because sad to say but we've got nothing at the moment. Injuries have crippled us this season. Full squad and I'd have fancied us to beat Arsenal tonight, because they were gash. And we were doing fine in defense at least until Carragher went off as well. Don't know why I'm so annoyed by that result as it's traditionally a game we always lose but I am.

Hey, at least Babel ran about a bit...whisper it, but he actually looked like he gave a **** when he came on. Has the penny dropped?

I hate them.
I know plenty of Everton fans along with Liverpool fans but not once have i heard them say that hate someone down to a club. Everton fans are from Liverpool, as you well know so if they are racist scum so are all Liverpudlians going buy what you have said.

It is fans like you that spoil the sport.

Hatred should be saved for murderes, rapists and so on. Not sports.

Wasn't the Arsenal game just so predictable... I knew we just wouldn't do anything, I knew we would be so cautious. We needed to fight like we did against Everton but why didn't we.. Frustrating. Forward one step, back two steps.

The general public in liverpool are not nice people at all, general knowledge is low and the racism is appalling. I was at Anfield when Sissoko was subjected to constant N word from hundreds of fans at the back of the Kop throughout the Gala match in 2006. Everyone heard it and loads rang in the phone ins afterwards. So I'm not saying we haven't got our element, it's just far less so than the Everton fans. Anyone who isn't white is heckled and abused when walking down the street anywhere other than the city centre. ie the suburbs, which are dreadful.

I still don't know how you know any Everton fans living in Bournemouth mind. So I call BS on that one. You might know one or two from Uni or wherever. But bear in mind that I have met hundreds of them over the years, hell I've sat in Merseyside Derbies at goodison in the home end. So not being funny but on this one its my opinion that counts. I'm the one with the experience, not because I had to do anything special but simply because I'm a local fan.

This is a really uncultured backwards city, but to me Everton typify this city. When I think of local scum, I think of an Everton fan. As well as being a horrible club with horrible players and manager, I just don't like them.

I would argue if you have a problem with a fellow Liverpool fan hating or at least strongly disliking our club's main and oldest rival, then you aren't a real Liverpool fan. Almost all of our supporters hate Man United, so are they all pathetic too? I personally dislike Everton far more as I live amongst them and I don't know any mancunians, but are the fans who hate Man United which is almost all of us, are they all pathetic too? Quite bizarre to call yourself a Liverpool fan but not have any understanding of our local rivalry. And to find me pathetic for not liking Everton, is just a bit weird.

I have always hated playing the 'Out of Town' card, i'm aware every other fan in this thread is likely an out of town fan. got no problem with that. big club n all. but for an Liverpool fan from Bournemouth to take the moral high ground and call me pathetic for simply saying I can't stand my team's local rivals is pretty laughable. You don't know me. And don't know any of the problems I've had in the past, just wearing my liverpool top on the bus. And have completely uncalled for trouble off that sniveling lot.

Source: A Liverpudlian who has lived in the city his entire life, unlike yourself.

I think a lot of cities have scalls or chavs.

I don't hate any football supporters. Although I do love it when we beat the mancs or when they get beat as I am sure they do vice-versa.

My girlfriend of 10 years is a blue as are some of my closest friends. Yes, they can seem bitter, but I imagine we would sound the same if Everton had been the more successful team in the city. Regardless, I do get wound up through being a fan of Liverpool, but I give as good as I get. I'd never get violent over it or feel or say I hate, as I think "hate" is such a strong word to use.

Lived in Liverpool since I was born 34 years ago and I personally love it here. Been to many games and never seen or been the subject of violence or hatred from opposing fans. Maybe you just had bad luck or got your hatred thrown back at you?

                    Peace.

No chance. I am not like that at all. Never had a fight except a couple in school when i was about 12, but that doesn't count.

I would suggest you've been lucky. Disappointing to see you siding so easily against me mind, I know im a newb here n that, and everyone in the thread has probably known eachother for years. but you must have encountered something over the years. Or something must have happened to a mate or family member. My mate was telling me that after the derby on sat his next doot neighbours daughter had her shirt robbed off the line and torn up. Just little things like that, but you hear them.

To say there is no ill feeling towards reds and blues is not true at all, and you're sugarcoating the city to people who aren't from the city. This is a common trait of scousers, scousers tend to be quite militant and loyal to the city. Meaning if someone like me is to come in and give a different version of events, i am called pathetic and full of hate etc. i actually didn't mind everton that much until i was attacked for no reason other than my scarf on the night bus after the 2005 game where we won 2-1 and garcia scored the winner. i was about 21 then and i had lived a pretty sheltered life. penny dropped for me that day though.

had numerous horrible uncalled for comments off blues i thought were 'mates' until we beat them in a derby, then the true feelings come out via text etc. "you red****e twat, hope you all get crushed by a fence. gerrard's baby isn't his" etc, from someone you got along with quite fine until you beat them in a derby. a miserable, horrible club. who exist to see us not do well. they are more happy with our loss tonight than their win, i know how they think and i know that is true.

also if your girlfriend is a blue and all of your closest friends, it's natural that you will have more affinity with them than i do. I am from a red family and about 75 percent of my friends are red. all my best friends are red and the girls i have dated have all either not cared or been red. so i don't think you're the best example to talk about everton, if your girlfriend and best mates are all blue you will always tend to side with them not being all that bad won't you? you aren't impartial.

I'm sorry I don't have any tales of woe to share. It's all harmless banter here. Once I chased a blue nose mate into the garden after he laughed during the Milan CL final and they beat us. I wellied him up the arse, but I knew his arse cheeks would cushion the blow. Once I shut myself in my game room after the missus was dancing at me over a derby win for the blue ****e, but I get over it.

Really can't share your hatred. Not taking sides. Fact.

I have about 15% blues in my life - friends and bird.

Yeah i understand that and that's fair enough. but by saying stories like that and telling me my own negativity has come back to get me, you're sugarcoating the city to anyone who has never lived here. and to your mates in thread. That's how Sky make it out, as the friendly derby. But I'm here saying it isn't. So for you to basically dismiss what I was saying is a bit annoying because I know for a fact if you're a 34 year old male grown up here you will of heard something down the years or had some kind of uncalled for abuse or threats after derby day.

What about the songs they sing about Gerrard's kids? The rumours they spread around the city about our players families, how about the Agger one about how he's a drug addict? How about the Heysel Banners 39 ITALIANS CANT BE WRONG? the if you genuwinely haven't noticed any of this behavior you're in the extreme minority . And with an Everton girlfriend and best mates you aren't an impartial person on the matter. It would be impossible for you to have any strong dislike for an everton fan in your situation.

My image of growing up was all the hard faced kids were Everton fans

                            Oh so true!

I've heard about all those things you mention, the rumours, the racist chants and I am not denying that those things happen. But I'm sure that these things are done by a minority of fans and probably fans in nearly every other big city. My Dad knows an old school Everton hooligan (yeah, they're friends), but I'm sure they only bothered other hooligans.

As I said before, I just don't find myself in a position to hate most Eveton fans. Maybe I have been "lucky"?

I get into some really heated discussions with my Everton fan friends, but we both always kiss and make up after cooling off.

You'll get moronic singing at every ground, you cant generalise all Everton fans due to a few examples surely? Otherwise all Manc fans would hate you lot because someone sang a bad taste song about Munich.

BTW if you ever get to move to London, just to let you know: loads of Liverpool supporters here and everyone hates each other. You'll fit right in
