The lad has an awful attitude, and that is why he didn't succeed. The contrast between him and Torres, couldn't have been more stark.

It also helps if you don't take fifty touches to bring a ball under control.

Babel, who I've watched for during parts of the seasons since he arrived at the club has been terrible. He has shown slight glimpses of the raw power and pace he possesses but everything else within his game is below par.

He has a bad attitude and no football brain. His movement is non existent. Its such a shame he never developed because he has the raw attributes to be great.

Haha, Babel sounds like a right turd.

The worst Liverpool player I've ever seen in the flesh is Salif Diao. I saw him play for Liverpool Reserves against Sunderland Reserves at New Ferens Park in Durham. He was f-ing TERRIBLE. He could do nothing, absolutely nothing, right - couldn't control the ball, simple passes were wayward, long passes where like the undignified leathering of the ball by a blind man, and his tackling was so poor he got skinned umpteen times by a Billy nobody called Jonjo Dickman.

I suppose it may have been a one-off, but it's stuck in my mind since the day I laughed at it.

Finished watching and that was exactly the kind of performance Liverpool needed. Superb, there were a good few times during the match Wolves pressured and harried the team but eventually the class told through.

I rewatched the final goal to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I've counted and it looks like 32 passes and 1 minute 20 seconds with the ball before Torres' scored his second goal of the game. Absolutely brilliant football for that goal. The team went up the field once and when there was nothing available they went back to the keeper and probed again.

That has to be one of the best worked goals I've seen in a while.

Kenny Dalglish seems to have worked something with the team. Confidence is still delicate, that is definite. On another note, where does Gerrard fit into that team? Meireles in that form was sublime. He will not hold like Poulsen did, Poulsen did very well too. Lucas is a more traditional central midfielder under Dalglish whereby he gets up and down the pitch and he is playing very well too.

Also, a notable mention for Meireles' goal. Stunning. Not better than the third goal though.

Meireles played really well. He never stopped running, and definitely grew into the game. Defence still looks shocking though.

Shocking? They dealt well with the width Wolves tried to supply and the bombs being dropped from the sky.

That is a very very hard game to play against for any defence. I think the defence did well, it was nervy at times because of the confidence but the quality was there.

And for a long while there, I actually thought Poulsen did well. He did get sloppy midway through second half though.

Good to see players popping up in surprising positions.

Good overall performance albeit against a weak team. Liverpool needed that and can certainly go on to improve now. Defence needs sorting urgently though.

Liverpool were better attacking than I've seen them for a while.

The amount of time Liverpool were on the backfoot there would be severely punished by a team less hopeless on the attack than Wolves though.

Wolves one step closer to relegation makes me happy. His brand of negative football is infectious amongst the relegation sides. Teams like Blackpool have shown you don't need to play like Wolves do.

                      Great goal by Meireles.

Annoyingly I was in the loo when that goal went it. Cheers for the vid, ace goal indeed!

Say for a minute, we land Suarez.

What should our first team look like?

I mean, when Gerrard returns, he would be best replacing (going off our first team put out against Blackpool) Poulsen. It would be rude to not play Torres and Suarez up front together. Problem then is Meireles would have to be shift to the right again or out altogether. Or replace Kuyt as RM/RW with Gerrard and keep Raul in CMF.

Would like to hear some views. None Liverpool supporter welcome

Difficult really. With Gerrard and Meireles best in similar positions it could be a pain. I think Gerrard is better at both but Raul is weaker wide than centre so Gerrard wide would be the better option. That said, no reason it couldn't be a 4-3-3- with Gerrard wide and if he drops inside then Raul could push out to cover.
4-4-2 is another option but can Liverpool play with just 1 holding player with the defence they have?

                            I would go..

                            ---------------Reina------------

                            Kelly---Carragher---Agger----Aurelio

                            --------------Lucas---------------

                            Kuyt----------------Raul-----Suarez

                            ----------Gerrard------------------
                            -----------------Torres------------

Not very defensive though. Would basically be a hard working 4-3-3 and a pretty solid team.

It wouldnt work. The purchase of Suarez would dictate he plays as striker, especially at the kind of figures being thrown about. That doesn't leave much space for Gerrard, imo. He is too indisciplined to play as a proper central midfielder. Lucas and Meireles seem to have quite a good understanding of how eachother play too.

Gerrard would have to be a right winger in the system, thats the only position you could fit him into the team. It'd have to be a role whereby he has freedom to get about the pitch though. That is where he is at his most dangerous.
