Could Torres be sending a message to FSG that they need to buy Suarez and an extra 8 million on top of their first bid is a drop in the ocean compared to the huge loss a Torres exit would cause (commercially and on the pitch)?
Earlier in January, Torres shows his commitment to LFC:
The best sports coverage from around the world, covering: Football, Cricket, Golf, Rugby, WWE, Boxing, Tennis and much more.
Personally I don't think he is going to leave. This story originated from Guillem Balague, he isn't a credible source as far as I am concerned, he's the same person who said Torres would walk last summer, that didn't happen.
Chill people.

Seriously people, there is no indication of him leaving from himself, last published article regarding this (published on Sky sports just earlier this month) states his quotes clearly state this, this is whilst we are languishing towards the wrong end of the table! Now that's commitment. Why would he go back on that now when Kenny Dalglish, who he admires, is in charge? Not only that, we are up to the heady heights of 7th place and playing better football (the last goal against Wolves, 31 passes in the buildup was the biggest amount of passes before a goal for any team this season, as Rafa would say - FACT!).
Guillem Balague is not a reliable source of information. As stated, he has said things in the past regarding Torres which didn't turn out to be true.
This is typical behaviour from a rival club, they are trying to unsettle him before the match at Stamford Bridge next Sunday, classic tactic - no one played Championship/Football Manager here?

Sites are reporting he wants them to discuss the deal with Chelsea. Sell him for near 50mil and buy a few to improve the club. That's if he wants to go.
Edit : Just like to qualify what I posted. If there is any truth at all in what has been going around and even if he can be persuaded to stay its only a matter of time before he will do the same again. I think taking the money from Chelsea and using the money wisely is the only option in the long term.
I dont feel qualified to say anything on Suarez, haven't seen him enough, but I'd much rather try to build a team around people who want to be at the club.
I'd rather there be no truth in the rumour at all but its a coincidence that its happened in the last two windows. Of course, the worry is that if Torres is allowed to leave then it could lead to a complete rebuilding of the club because a lot of players will be worried about Liverpool's direction unless signings are swiftly brought in to counteract it.Last edited by Adrock; 28-01-2011, 14:53.

Luis Suarez transfer price has been agreed.
LFCTV has said it was 26.5mil euro.
Interesting they've gone up that high. It may be indicative of the fact Torres wants to go. Unless of course the signing appeases him, but what club needs a player who keeps on getting his head turn?
Again, thats if all the rumour about Torres is true.Last edited by Adrock; 28-01-2011, 15:58.

Bit of a bittersweet day, transfer-wise.
Suarez is clearly a "statement of intent" signing for FSG, but too many strikers who have flourished in Dutch football have failed miserably on tougher European stages in recent times (Huntelaar, Afonso Alves, Kezman) - I just hope Suarez doesn't turn out to be another one.

I won't lie - I'd be gutted to see Fernando go, but please give me players who actually want to be at the Club over want-aways any day. If he really wants to leave, we should be calling his bluff by demanding an official transfer request from him AND absolutely NOTHING less than a minimum of ?50m from Chelsea.
Frankly, it's high time that we started showing people that we can no longer be d1cked around in the Transfer Market.
