Been watching the Sky Sports re run.

I think I'm gonna go to bed now though, seen all 3 of the goals. The commentator reckons Gerrard dragged Liverpool back into the game with his free kick that Kyrgiakos did very well to convert.

Same old ****ty media deciding Gerrard is the messiah. Such a tired expression.

N'gog is lively again. I'm surprised, given how out of sorts Torres has been, he hasn't been given a better run. N'gog has started the season well and still hasn't been rewarded.

Owen & Gerrard were the last great products of our Youth System - that was over a decade ago.
No not at all, Its been an issue for years even before the Americans took over.

Spain & Holland (played out World Cup Final, I believe), Slovakia (beat ex-world champs Italy), Denmark, England, Greece, Serbia (beat Germany) and Argentina (off the top of my head).
All very well and good. But how come the side made up for so many International players, hasn't won the Premiership and can't even qualify for the Champions league?.

We can all blame the owners, but its also about the players on the Pitch

Oh, that's right - Glen Johnson is solely to blame for England's World Cup,
Oh that's not the point I'm making at all. Glen Johnson has been poor for Liverpool and did cost Liverpool £17 million (don't the copout over Money already owed, that happens with most deals).
Heskey played for England during the World Cup, but he seemed a but of all jokes

you need to learn basic facts...Crouch wanted to leave, Rafa wanted him to stay and offered him a new contract.
Like most players he wanted 1st team football. But he felt he wasn't really given the fair crack of the Whip at Liverpool, and Peter seems a genuine sort of guy, rather than a trouble maker

Robbie Keane was clearly rubbish in the short time that he was the Club
yet he's a International Player and even scores goals on the International stage, ok that's just a bit of banter, but is Keane really worse than N'gog

You get rid of Bellamy (ok he's got form on that) , Crouch, Keane all established and proven International players and you replace them with N'gog; N'gog tries his best and isn't that bad a player, but an Liverpool 2nd choice Striker (Liverpool should be better than that).

Just amazed Liverpool didn't try and get the likes of Bent , Or don't you think, that Liverpool needs some fire-power; that a lack of Strikers hasn't been a issue for a couple of years ?
I'm not taking the piss on that point btw.

The likes of Arsenal may not pay big fees but they pay big wages to their young players and have a significant advantage in being a London club
And now a Big Stadium to boot (More Clubs moving forward), but for sure a London based club as a advantage for bring in players, more so from abroad I would imagine

Now every time someone posts about Liverpool spending, its always wrong, people can't possible comment, People on here now best, don't believe the media ECT

Where are you getting Arsenal wage bill facts from ?, Just out of Interest.

All I'll say on this is that Liverpool fans aren't as fickle as you make them out to be. They're not idiots - they know what's going on regarding the state of the club. I do feel that someone of his stature within the Club would be able to motivate the current squad a lot better than the current fool
Not doubt it would be a massive plus for the Club and may have won the 1st couple of games for Liverpool on the back but over the course of this season, It would be a massive ask, even for Kenny.Pretty sure ROY will get Liverpool mid Table by Christmas

With the greatest of respect, Ian Holloway's "proven track record" is in the lower leagues, where it is easier to do as such. Fair play to him and Blackpool
Most of the so called top manager wouldn't last 5 minutes in the lower league's. What Ian Holloway has done is remarkable, and when it comes to motivating players they can't be many if any that's better.
If its a Manager you want, used to tight Budgets, working and getting the best out Previous Managers buys/players (which is the position Liverpool are in), then it doesn't come much better than Ian.

And he done it playing quality and great Football to boot, even in the Premiership.

Liverpool became kind of average over the years imo, or rather the Premiership is very good.

Gerrard is world class, Torres too. But Torres is far from what he was and both played an awful WC too. Dirk is Hollands worst player, btw. He works hard, but thats about it. He can't outplay his man, fails in combination football.

Liverpool also lost key players such as Alonso and Mascherano lately. Those were world class too.

For the rest, Skretel, Reina, Johnson, ... I think its average stuff for PL standards really. The top three, plus City, Spurs, Villa etc can field better squads. Doesn't mean a Blackpool should beat them at home of course, thats just disgraceful.

I don't think anyone believes the current crop of players are good enough to win the league, or even finish in the top 4. But there is no way in a million years they are bottom 3 fodder.

I actually can't believe how ****e we have been and I was pretty pessimistic before the start of the season.

              *sigh*

              Some stuff from above.

              Re: Crouch.
One thing not mentioned is the Pompey deal he was offered gave him a significant payrise compared to staying on at LFC. I think he left mainly because of Torres taking his place, but the extra cash wouldn't of hurt.

              Re: Youth Team
Best bunch for a while. A handful of them are probably already good enough to play in the League. I would hope to see Shelvey get some more game time and maybe even see Suso on the bench a couple of times.

I doubt we'll see any of them given Hodgson's preference for buying older plodders such as Konchesky and Poulson. Besides, knowing what some of our fanbase is like these days, they'd be hounded out after a couple of misplaced passes.

                  This is spot on.

Kuyt is a very workmanlike player. Like him a lot but he is not a natural talent, merely a very hard worker. Gerrard for me is incredible and I want to see him get a PL winners medal more than anyone else but it will not happen unless he leaves.

I questioned Roy Hodgsons decision to move to Liverpool in the summer. Tactically he is suited to teams like Bolton and Fulham and not to manage a team that is expected to push for the top 4. Having said that, take away Gerrard, Torres and perhaps Reina and the squad quality matches that of Fulham and the like so really he should be in his element!
Clearly it is the worst Liverpool sqaud I have ever seen.

Reina has been our best player for a long time now, we'd be in even more trouble if we didn't have him between the sticks. What Liverpool need, and have done for a long long time is actual wingers, people who can beat a man at pace and get a cross in. Johnson could and should play that role on the right, but as same old Liverpool we'll play centre backs at full back, and strikers as wingers.

Anyone who thinks the club is in the relegation zone because of the quality of the players is mental.

Down to their mentality and the quality of the coaching now I think.
I've not seen such an abject performance like that in a home in the league since the early 90s.

Dunno... Chelsea played some of the most uninspired football I've ever seen under scolari. Liverpool for all their problems do show a bit of drive at points during matches.

I know it is bad but the Souness era was worse...Kvarme, Piecknick, Ruddock and Dicks!

                            Awful....

                            Things can only get better...

Personnel wise it was so much worse under Souness.

You seem to be where Forest were in the season they went down to League One. Good players, but just playing really rubbish due to backroom ****e getting in the way and demotivating everyone. Took a change of manager to one who was willing to crack a few heads together to sort us out. I think Roy might just be a little too meek, you need someone with a hairdryer...
