If winning 2 league titles and a European Cup in fuve years at Barcelona is not much silverware, then you may have a point. Personally, I don't believe being Barcelona manager with a bunch of immensely talented players is the yardstick of a good manager of the Liverpool today. The other rumour is Pellegrini. he had a great record with Villareal, keeping them in contention for the league despite their inability to compete with their more gilded rivals.

Anything at this time would be better than the old schoold buffonery of Roy Hodgson. His comments about the Torres to the scum speculation is the last straw for me. No Liverpool manager would ever entertain the possibility of selling a player to them. However as is his way, he likes the sound of his own voice, thinks he's some kind of stately figure holding court. Sorry Roy, but when you say 'we'll cross that bridge when we come to it', you've lost my support as it implies inevitability. I don't give a ****e if bacon face is your mate. Publicly, no Liverpool player idolised is for sale, let alone to that shower. It's clearly not enough to isolate Torres on the pitch suffocating him from the possibility of even getting a sniff at goal, and blame Torres form for that. Sorry Roy, that's down to your baffling tactics.

The problem is it's never good to sell players during an awful run of form. Teams aren't going to splash out on a gamble.

Even if thats the case you publically rebuke any potential offers for your star player to ensure as big an offer as possible, its not rocket science.

Personally I feel that Torres is still a big part of the Liverpool of the future if handled correctly and given support (eg another striker).

The Pellegrini rumours are rife this morning, please let it be so, still a bit of a gamble but it can't go any worse than Roy can it?

I think he's almost 100% certain to be out the door by this time next week. The Torres thing is just another one of his magical pieces of man-management.

Naples is just one of those places in Italy where you are almost guaranteed some kind of 'welcome' from the locals, just like Rome, Palermo etc.
