I have to agree with Adrock on the whole consistency thing. Referees all interpret things in slightly different ways regarding the ruleset. The Kompany challenge was a red in my referee book but I personally wouldn't have liked to have given it, but at the same time I think it was impossible to state that Balotelli meant to stamp on Parkers head.

I wouldn't have given the Kompany challenge a red. It's created a spate of pisspoor and inconsistent decisions since.

The Kompany challenge was poor though. It was not controlled and two footed, had Nani gone in full force, Kompany simply had no way of pulling out.

It was two footed, but low, and I don't think it constituted 'excessive force'. Irrelevant of that particular challenge, however, it's created a depressing discussion over vaguely similar challenges. Too many nobhead pundits are getting whipped into a firestorm that'll eventually led to all go-to-ground tackles being banned. Overreacting cheats, ****scared refs, unclear laws, media clowns and recklessly poor boot designs are leading us down a dangerous path.

Really? from what i saw it looked like richards leg sent the ball flying upwards(as in, directly up in the air ^^), and in no way towards the goal. It just happened to unluckily strike his arm on the way up.

What annoys me about football is the way big blatantly wrong desicions, are still left to stand after games. I meam i know its not easy, but surely something has to change.

Or.....just bring in the technology to help refs(handheld video device which could possibly be streamed the footage we get on the tv). An odd few second delay would be a small price for a fair result.

I do agree. Did you see Cabaye on the brighton lad yesterday? None of the pundits said what he did was wrong but continued to lambast Balotelli.

I did. The MAGedia ensure that nothing untoward is said against their golden boys; the tentacles of the Geordie Nation (est. 1992) spread throughout football like a nightmarish Lovecraftian beast.

Nine times out of ten the contentious decisions that could be changed by looking replay cause a stoppage in play anyway, so it wouldn't slow down the game very much at all (which seems to be a big worry people have), an official can be looking at the replay while the players are surrounding the referee and arguing about the decision

Spearing was really really bad yesterday & again it showed we are missing the finishing striker up front, 3 points lost.

I thought he did well. All the players worked hard and I couldnt fault them.

I was at the match yesterday, glad to get a point out of it as I think Liverpool were the more likely to win on the night. I thought we defended well for the most part but Liverpool had a few chances where I thought it was a nailed on goal and I was very relieved when they missed! Head in hands moment when Bale missed at the end though, argh!

Not a great match which hurt the atmosphere I think, buy I really liked Anfield, proper ground and hopefully I'll come up again next season. If only to see that awesome cat again

Only one shot at goal & so many mislaid passes to the opposition, he had a very poor game.

Crazy talk. Spearing's job isn't about creating chances. He did miss place quite a few passes but his job in breaking up the play was very good. How many times did you hear the commentators mention modric? How much was bale involved? He was scurrying around the pitch doing the dirty work.

As for a striker to convert chances, I agree but last night wasn't littered with chances. Spurs were good defensively.

I believe modric completed 100% of his passes in the first half. He had a reasonably good game. Scott Parker was the best player on the pitch thought. By a mile. Should be England captain.

He had quite a few poor passes when we were in attacking situations, if he did not want to help create the chances then why was he in that position going forward?
