That's a lovely gesture! Hope he gets a damned fine reception if he ever returns to Anfield with Athletico.

I was teary eyes when I read his letter yesterday; what a fantastic thing to do.

There is no doubt that Liverpool has the best fans in the world and is such an exciting club to play for especially with their recent success stories.

I hope he settles over in Spain and play just as well as he did for Liverpool.

Oh he will, no doubt about that.

Really good win today; that's the sort of game we would have struggled with last season - away, early KO, just after international break. Torres & Voronin looked good up front, and we were solid at the back as usual. Hope Carra isn't out for too long though.

And a first goal for Momo!

You're right, especially after we were robbed last weekend, should be nine points from nine but hey-ho I suppose, what goes around comes around and all that.

exactly, especially condsidering how Villa were robbed the previous week.

I thought Liverpool made a fairly decent Toulouse side look terrible tonight. Absolute masterclass of a performance by Kuyt too. Trying to send a message to Benitez that Torres aint the main man yet maybe? Benayoun was fantastic too... on that performance he should get the nod over Pennant in the big games surely.

Really positive about the reds squad depth this season. So many great players.

Yeah good result. Toulouse looked absolute shize. They just didn't look arsed.. even in the first leg on home turf.

Agree about Benayoun, give him a run in that Prem side!

Strikers did well. Crouch just can't keep the majority of them headers down can he? For me, it's Torres and Kuyt, with maybe a sprinkle of Voronin

Yep, I was impressed too. Seasons gone by I would have been fearful being without Gerrard, let alone Carragher too, but despite having an almost completely changed starting eleven, we looked sharp, pacey and purposeful. I know it's early days, but we look like we have a really strong squad this season

I think we have had a strong squad for a while but this season it really feels like the changed players a re playing with a prupose - as if they know there is not a 1st team and so they *could* retain their spot if they perform.

Yeah I have a good feeling about this season, if we can stay fairly injury free don't see why we can't give the top pair a real good run for their money.

euch Derby are really bad. Are bookies even taking bets on them going down still? That said, I've never been a fan of teams embarrassing much weaker opposition with insane scorelines.

                          I know, it's brilliant isn't it!?

that scoreline could be very important at the end of the season if it goes down to the goal diff.

oh and derby are 1-8 to go down also-
Not good enough to beat Blackpool in the league cup and thumped for 6 by Liverpool at Anfield? Sorry but we have less faith in Derby staying up than we do in Paul Robinson hanging on to a cross! Which is why, after just 5 top flight games, we're paying out on them to be relegated. Applies to bets placed before 8am Friday Aug 31st.

Pleased we gave them a thumping, there have been too many seasons where we've struggled against the lower teams. mt50's right, every goal makes a difference, could be worth millions of pounds come the end of the season.
