Might be total bollix but I heard that there is a sell-on clause fee possibly due to Saints - this could be why they are asking for silly money. Would be quality if true, especially if we manage to make a bit of free money at Bagpuss and P****y's expense.

I think Crouch is ace. Excellent control, great striker of the ball, but a but hit n miss in the header department. I'd 10mil is about right. He's certainly got goals in him. I hope we keep hold of him if no other striker is coming in. Voronin is helping out on the new stadium carrying bricks about.

Crouch is an excellent player and much maligned outside of Anfield. Whenever he scores for England - (whenever he plays almost!) we are reminded of who he scored against.....not the case for Rooney who has failed to score against big teams despite 1st choice status. 2nd top scorer in the CL last season - very respectable scoring record this season. He has trickery in them thar boots (his close control and ball retention at times is supreme) and vision in his head. His basic problem is that he is a tall player that isnot great in the air. And he is not quick. But he is both a finisher and a link up man - his hold up play is great [see above] and he has scored some genuinely spectacular goals. I was GUTTED when we bought him but while he didn't score at first (during which time I really grew to appreciate his talent actually) he has been excellent at goalscoring since. I will be more GUTTED if (I can still hope) he goes.

I think he should go. He has openly questioned Benitez's decision a number of times last season regarding his choice of strikers. If you come out publically and state you're unhappy to be playing from the bench you certainly dont do it before Christmas time unless you're looking for a move.

Whilst Crouch can certainly add something to a team when he plays well he has no chance of ousting Torres at all. The way Liverpool have settled into the new system with Gerrard behind Torres means Crouch would just be warming the bench even more next season.

He needs to move, he got a bit too confident in his position at Liverpool and Benitez is a ruthless manager. He'll definitely move a player on if they look likely to go against him. People are forgetting we have some decent young strikers in the reserves who need a chance, Krisztian Nemeth set the reserve league alight last year and Nabil El Zhar could do with a couple of games to see if he can make the step up.

I'd really like to see Rafa give Nemeth and El Zhar more of a run out next season.
