    Blimey.

Liverpool have won a Champions League, played in another Champions League final, a semi-final and a quarter-final in the last 5 years. Even in this season of garbage we still featured in a European semi-final. Spurs have a long way to go before I start glancing enviously over at WHL.

The immediate future isn't exactly looking great, but all we've actually had so far is one crappy season after 5 pretty good, progressive ones - which put Liverpool back amongst the big European clubs for the first time in a long while.

    Some short memories out there.

i aint much of a football fan but makes me laugh loads of people saying what a disastorous season liverpool had......in my mind if they were relegated then THAT is a disatorous season

I don't think you can really paper over the fact that most fans expected a strong challenge to the title and some big cup runs only to end up with a season that made it look like the club was heading towards middle of the table mediocracy.

Anyhow Benetez is in talks today. It's entirely possible he could get a pay rise and a big budget for transfers (although god knows where the money would come from unless they're expected £40m+ for Torres)

Can you see Torres in a Chelsea shirt next season, Smuff?

I'd certainly take him. I don't think Liverpool would sell to us though

"Liverpool post pre-tax loss of £54.9m. Interest payments reach £40.1m, total debt now £351.4m" From BBC Sport, sounds like another Pumpy. The loss of Champions league money is going to really bite hard.

Apparently we pay something bonkers like £100,000 interest every day.
It looks like the yanks borrowed money in America and then loaned that to the club through a Cayman Islands holding company, charging the club extra interest and actually making profit on the money they borrowed in the first place.

And Rick Parry some how managed to get £3m out of the club when he was given the boot.

                Sack Rafa!

I got the new home kit today. Taken bloody long enough in the post. Not the best shirt but I've never missed one.

The loss doesn't come as a surprise. The current deal Liverpool are on with their loans was largely an emergency deal whilst they seek a buyer

That's the score for a lot of People .
How many here, are CEO's of a Football club, own and paid for a Premiership Club out of their own Pockets??? . If not a owner, how can anyone here comment, on any Clubs books/ or possible debts . Until you own and run your Club your self's, you couldn't possible know what its like , other than Gutter talk in the Press.

What next , until you play the game Professionally. One can possibly comment Players performances ECT
Dear god, you post an awful lot of nonsense. I didn't say anything about any former players did I? You on the other hand have nothing to say, that has any basis that is worth listening to you terrible wind up merchant. It's been wonderful to be able to witness some of the greatest footballing moments of my life under Rafa's management, and all this achieved with limited resources, a manager who is trying to do his best for my club and stands between it and a total slide into mediocrity. You can vent your spleen all you like, but as I said before your opinion is utterly irrelevant. Lucas this....Rafa that....it's boring.

For anyone who thinks our problems are just on the pitch, have a read of this and face the reality of the real problem at the club.

Didn't think our problems were just on the pitch. Maybe you meant "off"?

I've checked the link and it should work. I'm sure you'll find the page on that site.

Everyone who cares about this club should be asking exactly why the club is in so much debt. It's not because of transfer activity, it's because these two lying ****s have basically got the club for nothing, and have us paying for their purchase, and in so doing bringing the club to it's knees.

Purslow was hoping to have new buyers in time for April. That has now passed and still no further forward, and we've got this puppet Broughton now towing the line of these two insidious bastards. Who in their right mind is going to pay this debt off and then stump up the money for the new stadium especially with the increasing price of steel.

Any right minded Liverpool fan who cares for the club, and wishes to see the best for it should be seriously considering making their voices heard before it's too late, and not just vacantly complaining about what's going on on the pitch.
