I heard they are throwing in a couple of kilos of jamon serrano too.

The fee being thrown around seems to be ?16-18m plus add-ons. So we are potentially making a loss on perhaps the best defensive midfielder in the world.

I heard it was Jamon flavour Ruffles, they are frightfully good. I basically lived on those when I went to Barcelona a while back.

It'll be an interesting couple of days now. Lots of players will be touted about in the press. I just hope Purslow sticks to his statement a while back about the player account that is solely from sales.

lol, Robinho here we come! We could buy most players in the world with that kind of money. Such a shame that wont be the case.

Im hoping for a couple of surprise signings. Konchesky is pretty much nailed on. A central midfielder in the a play making mould would be very tasty.

Saying that, the club needs to be looking at people like Charles Insomnia and the likes. Players who have done very well at the mid table clubs and are pretty much ready to perform in the Premier League.

With the financial situation as it is, thats pretty much what the club needs to be aiming towards.

We've also let Aquilani go out on loan, so when you think about it we've reduced the value of the available playing squad by £50,000,000 in 9 months.

The Konchesky thing just wont go away

I thought it was part of the contract Hodgson signed when he joined that he couldn't purchase players from Fulham anyway?

He said he wouldn't raid them, as it wouldn't be the correct thing to do, but I don't think there is anything in writing.

I don't think Fulham are really against doing a deal - Apparently they are bringing in Salcido, selling us Konchesky and coming out of it with a nice little ?2m profit.

I'd rather us buy Salcido than bloody Konchesky. Whats happening with Insua now? He hasn't even got a squad number last time I looked. He may be a bit of a liability but no more than Konchesky will be, plus he's still young, he's bound to at least improve....

I'm hoping the central midfielder Hodgson wants to pull in turns out to be someone interesting. Defour is still being touted about, not seen much of him but he is highly thought of from what I gather.

There has to be a creative type floating around who can do a job in this league. I'm confident a lot of players from the more technical leagues will surpass most passers of the ball but they need to get to grips with the pace and physicality. Lets hope he can find someone. Its not encouraging when Woy starts talking about the days when players were forcing their way out of Blackburn whilst he was manager >_<

Maybe things wont be as bad, eh. This means I'll have to put up with commentators calling him Merelsh in a stupid accent, small price to pay for a quality individual.
