The commentary said Gerrard will be banned for the Everton game. If so will give Merieles (sp) a chance to take the main midfield roll. Despite the loss in the cup, I can see Liverpool going on a little run now.

Most of those tits on that panel have had it in for us for a while.

Probably not Glenn's wisest course, but Merson is an utter ballbag and I found Johnson's posting amusing. More so that these so called experts sit their venting their spleen immune thinking they can say what they like without response. Surprise surprise, someone reacted. Glass houses and stones and all that. And for the record, Merson is exactly what Johnson described.

As for yesterday, Gerrard should have known better than making a challenge like that at their place. Can't complain with the red. Seen them given. But it's a competitive game, and Gerrard's always had that kind of challenge in him.

As for the penalty, well again. I thought it was harsh. But there again, any kind of contact like that that results in a player going down and you know a penalty is usually going to follow, dive or not. Not like Berbabtov was going anywhere. Still good to see Agger bringing some composure to the back line and especially bringing the ball out and keeping it on the floor. Kelly also had a very good game. Alot of promise there. Could see him keeping that spot, with Johnson possibly pushed further up the pitch.

Merson is a complete arse. A couple of weeks ago he was talking about the strength of the Premier League and said that players like Ronaldo had left because it was too hard for them, and they wanted to beat teams like Levante 7 and 8 nil every week, because that doesn't happen in the Premier League.

Later on the same show he praised Sunderland for the away performance at Man Utd saying "Bruce will be pleased, they did well, you could easily go there and lose 7 or 8."

(That's not even taking into account the matches THIS YEAR in the PL where teams have shipped 6, 7 or 8 goals).

Fairplay to Johnson, in this day and age pundits need to be aware that they can get it back.

Babel on the other hand, funny but silly.

            It was not a foul.

Contact alone doesn't make it a foul. The FIFA rules of the game don't even specify contact. The whole "contact = foul" thing is a myth.

It has to be actively be a kick and it has to be reckless or careless. A foot touching something does not make it a kick.

I don't like Johnson but good on him, Merson is a first class cock sucker.

I remember when he said the Tyne-Wear derby wasn't a proper derby because he had played in the tyne/wear v tees ones they had no atmosphere. Not to mention him saying that referees should be allowed no mistakes and be thrown out after one. Unlike cry baby barley snorters.

My missus has a ranting category that she calls "yet another one of those players that we resurrected their careers and they rub our noses in it" and he is top of that list.

The biggest shame is that people lap it up on Sky the creator of the modern game.

Steve Clarke has arrived as a new coach, he is widely regarded to be one of the better defensive coaches around. Happy with that kind of appointment.

If people had fears of Kenny being away from the game for a long time I think surrounding himself with people like Clarke and Lee should negate a lot of those problems. If, as manager, he can tap into the recent experience of both coaches and bring his man management to the forefront it'll be a big improvement on Hodgson.

Totally forgot about the Blackpool game hopefully we can get something there but the Everton game could be a season turner.

That is he , but people don't lap it up because he's on SKY... They'll always be Cocks used as Pundits - Ian Wright was a 1st class Prick on the BBC, John Barnes just a joke on Channel 5 and less said about edgar davids on ITV the better

To be fair to Barnes, when he has been an actual pudit he's been perfectly fine.

When he got moved to presenter it was truly awful though. He just couldn't read from the autocue/script and appear natural, it was just so awkward.

                          What about Alan Hansen?

                          Comment

Hansen doesn't have an opinion on anything really, like most of the BBC lot.
At least he comes across as something resembling a human though, Shearer can barely string a sentence together, massive retard that he is.

I like Alan, but he always calls everything wrong . I think Lee Dixon and Matt le Tissier are brilliant pundits, quite like to listen Stan Collymore & Iain Dowie. Rodney 'The GOD' Marsh was the best though (SKY were fools to get rid of him)

Why is everyone picking on Paul merson?, he dosent know anything about football, but alot of the stuff he says is comedy gold.

Id much rather have pundits like that, becuase the ones that arent complete idiots just tell us what we already know.
