That is also true. I certainly will not disagree there.

If you can pick your jaw up off the floor after reading the quote from that fine expert on top-class football of the very highest level Lawrie Sanchez, this ****e has to be heard to be believed.
Some of the stuff on there is just embarrassing - main reason I had to vent a few pages back was after reading the blog comments.

"Hodgson is the perfect choice for Liverpool" - the title of one of his articles.

Sanchez is laughable, he reckons the big European competition they regularly competed in for the last 5 years or so doesnt qualify for anything. 2 Finals within that period and regularly getting out of the group stages.

Also, in revenue terms the merchandise Liverpool shift is second only to Man U, so unless there is only one big club in the country I'm very much confused

Ah well poor Roy has gone, hope your happy with Daglish, he was utter pap at Newcastle.

Yes, I don't know who exactly they're going to get in who is good enough to manage a "big team".

That was a long time ago, and King Kenny on a caretaker basis for the rest of the season has got to be better than what has gone on so far on the pitch - it simply can't be any worse.

Kenny may not have been in hands-on management for ages, but he has still been at the club for the last couple of years, assisting at the youth academy and with ambassadorial duties. He knows the players and they know him (obviously). I honestly don't feel it's as outlandish a SHORT-TERM appointment as people think it is.

I think, as a short term appointment Dalglish is fine. The club clearly dont want to be rushed in deciding on the new manager so this is the best of both worlds.

I'm slightly worried they could bomb, but I think with the fans renewed vigour and the boost the players should get from the change the performances surely cant be that bad.

Had to happen unfortunately, carrying the form from the first half of the season in to the second would make relegation a very real possibility. The away form especially is getting worse, instead of better.

In the summer I was really against Kenny coming in and I'm still scared to death that if he doesn't have a good start that people will turn on him.

He'll need to sort out the Gerrard situation sharpish - despite some bizarre write-ups after the Blackburn game praising his performance, he was pretty bad until the last 10 minutes when he pushed up field.

I think it is a fine appointment. His break from management could have certainly freshened him and and I think the players will certainly try harder for him, they really didn't seem to for Roy.
My only fear now for Kenny is the possibility of failure which could damage his reputation somwhat. I don't think that will happen though.

He'll have far more backing from the players and fans than Hodgson. Hopefully that will translate onto the pitch. A Liverpool manager for Liverpool fan. Theres no better appointment to galvanize the club in what has been the our lowest point in footballing terms in my lifetime.

Stupid Gerrard. Poor decision to leave the ground with two feet. Definite red card.

The rest of the game was very encouraging though. The team all put in a very good shift and the desire seemed to be there. Gerrard starting as part of a 5 man midfield although mainly placed behind Torres was a much better formation than the more recent 4-4-2.

Martin Kelly was very good too, superb performance and I'd like to see him keep the spot for Wednesday.

A more attacking approach with a system and shape like the one today could work a lot better for the team.

No mention of the pen? Disgraceful but other than that thought we looked much better nice to see is press more and hopefully agger is now our 1st choice cb.

Much more positive despite the 'result'.

I smiled when I saw the team line up- it's really not that difficult to pick the best players, and put them in their best positions, is it? Hodgson was an idiot. Aurelio as left-back, no Konchesky in sight.

Pen wasn't one but Agger made a silly mistake by sticking his leg out.

Really happy with the stark difference between Woy and Kenny's post match postulations, Kenny stuck up for his team fully and thats exactly what players who have been in bad form need. He even managed to stick up for Gerrard too, haha.

Lets hope the team can put in a performance on Wednesday night.
