[QUOTE=Adrock;1902756]I dont think Adam was bought with an idea to plug holes in the midfield. Its very clear to see that Liverpool's style under Dalglish is all about attacking, his philosophy is that if Liverpool score enough goals nobody else will be able to live with them. Of course that doesn't mean defence is disregarded as folly, the team still works on their defensive shape and tactics but the first concern is to break down the opponents through fluid passing and movement. That is exactly what Adam gives you, yes he can be hit and miss but his passing and vision is at a level that is required when you're looking to get at teams and wear them down.QUOTE]

Clarke is very defence minded though so I'm not sure I agree 100% here; we aren't Brazil!
Don't get me wrong I want Adam to work out but he does not do as much donkey work as I think he should; maybe a 3 man midfield would suit him better (and Henderson for that matter) so he has more protection.

As for Henderson I have really high hopes for him; I think he'll be a serious player in a season or so (I would sooner him in the centre than on the right).

If Suarez gets a lengthy ban does anyone see our season taking a bit of a dive?

The Chelsea game on Sunday is worrying me. They've had a few dodgy games so will be working that extra bit harder to get a result. 6 points behind 4th place already is not pretty reading. It's not like it's one team either but several teams ahead of us for 4th.
Some people are saying spurs could get 3rd which means Chelsea falling 4th. That would make it harder than usual for us to get 4th place. Pressure is indeed on to get into the champions league. Some players will surely be off if we don't come the summer.

It could be one of the best ever seasons in the fight for the Champions League places. Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, all desperate to get in that top four. If Chelsea's iffy (by their standards) form continues, and Newcastle's surprisingly good form keeps going... could end up with five teams fighting it out for those two slots all the way to the end of the season.

Can't say i've been confident of our season prior to this Suarez incident. But stranger things have happened when our best players have been absent. Also, Suarez does seem to not be able to finish too much. Harsh maybe. Great player though and makes things happen.

We would miss him defo, but we may get by.

Might give Carroll the run of games he needs to shine, who knows?

Either way I can't say I'm hopeful of a top 4 finish simply because of how many new players we have compared to less than a year ago. Good signing but until they gel we're going to be frustratingly inconsistent....

              Great result.

Though that’s five teams in the mix now for fourth.

I think when the squad finally gels (they’re not there yet) they'll be some very flattering scorelines on the horizon.

Still, thoses home draws are killing us.

As for Suarez, I'd be more comfortable if Gerrard could stay free from injury for more than 5 minutes but without one them we lack the drive in the final third to really kill teams off. Hopeful of a big signing in January to add to the attack.

Stayed up till 3am(Japan time) to watch this and thought we were in for a hiding. Yet by the end of the game felt we should have won it.
Thought we controlled the midfield very well in the second half. Lucas played really well. Enrique had not the greatest game with a few dangerous mis passes. Playing well against Chelsea and Citeh just puts in to perspective even more he draws against Norwich and Swansea.

Still depended on an own goal (it was never Adam's) though and although I'm a big fan Downing needs to do more, and Kuyt should not be playing ahead of Maxi. A striker & a Winger is needed in January if we are going to make the CL places this season.

Just as we start getting some momentum...BAM Lucas out for the season, arse.

Shagged. Nobody in the squad is capable of doing what he does. I imagine Henderson will be given the opportunity to play centrally and in fairness he played well against City as part of a central three, definitely his best performance for the club as yet. Either him or Lucas I suppose until Gerrard's mystery 'infection' gets sorted.

Henderson was played centrally at our joint. I always thought he was better on the wing as he can cross the ball, but he's got no dribbling ability, so in that position he's got to receive the ball high up to cross it immediately. So, he might be ok as a simple-lay-off, running, box to box, central midfielder to play alongside Hollywood Adam. Your big worry, though, is that he can't tackle, so you've no ball winner/ play breaker-upper-er in the middle.

Adam is slowly progressing into a much better ball winner than he originally was. By no means is he of the standard that Lucas now finds himself at but Lucas was poor to begin with, he was shrugged away by pretty much anybody on the pitch when he first arrived.

Henderson has the potential to do any role within central midfield I reckon. He seems to be an all round decent player, that final progression is what will make his career. Whether or not he can improve enough to be in a Liverpool first eleven, I'm not sure, but I certainly hope he does.

I hope the lad does well, too. He got flogged for a King's ransom, but I hope most Liverpool fans can see his potential. Some days he seems like he's got it all - shot, passing ability, stamina - but other days he's anonymous. If he can learn to impose himself more often than not he'll be a genuine Premiership starter.
