My point was not that you shouldn't critisise players, it was about the knee-jerk reaction after a defeat. IMO, the team should be judged on whether they acheive what they set out to do (in this case, finish in the top 2) rather than individual games.

Once the Croatia game has been played, if England have not qualified then they have failed and should be slated. If they have qualified then they have succeeded and should be given credit. In the meantime, they should know that the country is behind them as surely this gives them the best chance of winning?

Beckham in then, if we dont qualify then he could end on 99 caps, if that's the case they should probably roll him out in a friendly next season so he can reach the milestone imo, great servant to his country.

Rooney is dead for 4 weeks, wtf are we going to do, whose going to play alongside Campbell with Rio & Terry out?

      Its probably academic anyway.

        Bye bye England.

We'll have to support "the game" instead of any particular team now.

Hail the Nev! Hurrah for the Nev!!

Hiddink probably booked his hotel in Switzerland the second he saw the Nev's name on the team-sheet.

It's out now on import but not in PAL land yet.

So what exactly are the permutations this weekend regarding England? I've seen the possible scenarios for the sweaty socks but nothing for England.

                          FROM BBC:

If Russia fail to beat Israel on Saturday, a win for England over Croatia next Wednesday would see them through.

If Russia beat Israel, but then slip to a shock defeat to Andorra next Wednesday, again an England win over Croatia would see them through

If Russia beat Israel and Andorra, England's only hope would be to finish above Croatia. They would therefore need Croatia to lose in Macedonia on Saturday and for them to then beat Slaven Bilic's side 2-0 or by three clear goals to progress

                              Any interest in the friendly?

Nope, the interest is in the other game. And we should all fear the worst on that one.
