My point was not that you shouldn't critisise players, it was about the knee-jerk reaction after a defeat. IMO, the team should be judged on whether they acheive what they set out to do (in this case, finish in the top 2) rather than individual games.
Once the Croatia game has been played, if England have not qualified then they have failed and should be slated. If they have qualified then they have succeeded and should be given credit. In the meantime, they should know that the country is behind them as surely this gives them the best chance of winning?
