An "outstanding" performance by Birmingham parking the bus after their only chance of the game and riding their luck to the extreme. Ben Foster... He doesn't put in those kinds of performances for England.
We were crap, you can't have 25 attempts and not score. We had 3 players playing today I'd never start but then, we have no options because of injuries.
Man U on the other hand avoid a clear red card for retaliation and finish against 9 men.
But yeah, come the new year, we're going to be 6 points behind.Last edited by abigsmurf; 20-11-2010, 15:59.

Balls.
Thought we deserved the 3 points there, wasn't good first half but we dominated 2nd half. Endless bad luck for chelsea at the moment. The gift of their goal, no penalties, disallowed goal (despite a handball of an identical nature not getting a penalty decision) and our vital players getting injured. Newcastle defended hard, only broke on the counter and rode their luck.
Still, Essien will be back next game, hopefully we'll get some form back, beat Man U and Arsenal and finish the year top of the league.

Essien, Lampard and Terry could all be back for the weekend \o/ \o/
Hopefully that'll jump start our season again (although I still think we've been unlucky the last couple of weeks not to get wins). Wonder if we'll manage to find another defender and midfielder in the jan window. Ramieres was awful (again) first half yesterday.
Sturridge I'm undecided on, he hasn't been great but I think part of it's down to confidence and experience. He's been getting in all the right places, just hasn't been shooting when he should and hasn't been clinical enough under pressure.

God dammit, just nothing goes our way.
We got a (rare) penalty but Howard should've been sent off. Cahill should've been sent off. How the hell is studs to the face not dangerous play? It doesn't matter if he 'tried to pull away', he went in to someone on the ground with studs showing. Yes Malouda could've been sent off but then Neville would've had to have been sent off too.
Then we concede a late goal. Argh.
We're not good enough at the moment but we're not getting a break anywhere.
