Whilst the ideal result was a draw from United's perspective, I have to admit if I picked one team I wanted to win it would have been Liverpool. Not for any great love but purely because, despite the current league standings, presuming United actually get into second any time soon, I still view Chelsea as the strongest title challengers. I think they will drop fewer points over the course of the season than Liverpool will.

Perhaps the biggest concern for Chelsea is that they have now hosted what will likely be their 2 biggest competitors at home and have picked up 1 point out of 6.

Need to bounce back with today's game.

Still, Hull should come out attacking and we play better against attack minded teams. I've a weird feeling that West Ham will do us a favour tonight (although now I've typed that, I'll have jynxed it and they'll lose by an insane amount).

So er, will you be tuning to watch us play West Ham at Old Trafford by any chance?

How about the Liverpool vs Portsmouth game?

I think you lot will get a result at Hull. At worst it'll be a draw. I hope I'm wrong though!

I'll watch whatever is on, not actually sure which games are televised :P

I think the Liverpool game will be a lost cause for me though, if they drop any points it'll be a shocker given what's happened to the club this week.

Take your pick with a p2p program like sopcast, innit?

Match of the day is on later tonight and it will have highlights of all tonight's games.

1st half sounded fairly even but it's great under Scolari that we're pushing for these goals and won comfortably in the end.

What a goal by Lampard. He never seems to get the credit for his audacious skill and people ask if he meant it. Reminds me of (for diff reasons) thye goal he got vs Barca a few seasons back.

The football scene on tv and in the papers - is very Northern biased.

Gerrard gets more respect than Lampard - simply because the media always loves Liverpool more than Chelsea, and northerners more than southerners.

The fact that Lampard is a Londoner - doesn't give him much of a chance of getting the total recognition he deserves.

I'd like to see and hear more Southerners on football shows and writing for the papers.

It's not fair for everyone to act like football is this big 'northern thing' when.. London clubs have always been big and pretty succesful, too.

Chelsea and players like Lampard, Terry, need to stop being treated as second best to northern teams and players.

I'm not anti-northern - but I do notice this issue.

There are very few southern pundits on TV. Glen Hoddle springs to mind as does Ian Wright but when you consider their careers, one an England manager, the other a very well loved player, it's just that much harder for anyone who isn't north of London to get these jobs.

The blind love of Northern teams and their fans gets incredibly tiresome. The reverence for players like Gerrard compared to Lampard seems incredibly undeserved. I don't see why Gerrard gets the automatic England spot (as I've said so many many times). He gives the ball away in awful positions endlessly and pundits and the press ignore this. However Lampard gets booed, slated in the press, dropped when a formation or tactics aren't working.

Here's enough southern pundits to make up a footy team.

Jamie Rednapp, Andy Townsend, Ian Wright, Paul Merson, Ray Wilkins(well, was one), Glenn Hoddle, Gavin Peacock, Trevor Francis (?), Matt LeTissier (?), Les Ferdinand, Gary Pallister.

If was to choose between Gerrard and Lampard, would be Gerrard by a small margin probably. He has the ability to just change a game out of nothing, especially in the big games....when it matters.

I think the trouble with that southern pundit list is that, other than Ian Wright, I wouldn't really see any of them as 'main' pundits, there's a quite a few there who are for the second choice games or picked because they have links to a club playing.

The main core presenters and pundits seem to be a disportinate amount of northerners (and scots).

Jamie Redknapp is wheeled out every weekend on Sky Sports constantly telling us how good his cousin is.

my brother's been at a party at his house.

Unsurprisingly it's fairly large. Louise's younger brother was in the year below when I was at school.

Let's blame the pundits for Gerrard being better than Fwank. Bwwwahhh!

                                Sort this thread out now.
