That was one of the more insane sending offs I've ever seen. Shame as it's taken some of the excitement out of the ending. Good football from Roma though, light years ahead of how they've been playing before tonight.

Harsh red. Within the letter of the law but I have not seen that before. In a way, it is quite fiine for Chelsea, Deco won't be missed for the game (single?) as the group is pretty simple.

Chelsea fans, how do you feel about the season? Awesome (don't use that lightly!) against the teams you can batter but results, and performances, have been lacking against the decent(ish) teams. iirc, played three decent teams [Roma, Liverpool and Man U] this season and made hard work of them all.

strangely enough, good teams tend to be hard work :P

Liverpool did the same thing they always do against us in the champions league, defend hard and hope for a goal against the run of play.

I'd be more worried about bad results against poor or mediocre teams.

Conditions are a joke at blackburn. Standing water covering pretty much the whole pitch. The ball barely travels 1/3 of what it should. It's stupid that you can have a premiership pitch with such poor drainage.

Should've had a penalty and had Robinson sent off early on, very poor decision. Our goal was amusing, Robinson stopped and the ball almost didn't make it over. Can't see yet if it came off anelka's hand or knee but his had was down and by his side for sure. Possibly would've been harsh to disallow.

Better to go out early in this competition than later at least, only big annoyance is it went to extra time so it'll have worn out everyone.
