The goals were coming. It was no less than Liverpool deserved really.

We needed to buy players and we didn't. Scolari himself is making basic tactical blunders (we've two of the best defenders in the premiership and can't defend corners ) and doesn't seem to to know how to get around solid defence. Perhaps the reason we looked so amazing at the start of the season was that Scolari's tactics hasn't sunk in?
This hasn't been a fun season for me so far, it's draining a lot of my passion which is leaving a big hole.
But meh, I'm just incredibly pissed.

I can not believe how chelsea have imploded. After the first 10 games of the season i thought you were nailed on as champions. Free flowing expansive football with goals from everywhere has now turned into utter ****e. Incredible.
What has scolari done to the awesome side mourinho built?? I didn't see the game but from what i have read, there was just no desire to win.
Chelsea will have to get their act together now with Aston Villa and Arse breathing down their necks.

I said this a few months back, Chelsea were doing well at the time but got beaten or played v poorly against "good" teams.
IMHO, CFC have played against the following "good" teams:
Arsenal
Liverpool
Man U
Roma
What have they done against them.
I have mixed feeling, it is a shame to see the way it has gone but also (as a fan of another team) joyous. No decent shots at all today or even close to making one.

Once again the 'Chelsea Zombie Squad' embarassed the club. The team didn't do anything - except defend. It was a sad sight to witness.
As I've said, the team has collapsed. We do need new players - because too many of the current ones look feeble.
That's not to say that the team should play so poorly. I think Scholari isn't the guy people expected him to be. I think he's far from the tough macho man he was painted as being. He hasn't inspired any of the the players. In fact.. even the best players seem lost and are severely underperforming.
Scholari's tactics are a mess. There is no direction to the play - it's a joke.
I'd like to see a new owner, a new manager, and new players. The club needs to go back to basics and realise that the Mourinho era has long gone.

Even under Grant we looked more convincing. Grant at least had a system that worked. His downfall was that he didn't know how to change things if it went wrong. You look at Terry, he basically commanded the back for years, you look at his performance ysterday and it was a shambles. Even cech, the best keeper in the premiership looked unsure.
We needed players between season, especially a replacement for Drogba and cover for Essien. Scolari isn't invoking any passion in the players and his tactics are frankly a load of crap. Look at yesterday, although Liverpool played better, we had a fair amount of possession up front that we did zip with. No through balls, no shots, just lots of passing around the area. When we failed to do anything with the ball, Liverpool would run straight to our goal and have a reasonable chance.
Scolari is useless and he's dragging the players down, something which is a problem as players like Drogba weren't exactly the most motivated before he arrived. Scolari doesn't even seem bothered. You listen to his post match interview yesterday and yes, he was honest but he just didn't seem to care. He even dropped Bosingwa in it with his comments. He'll now get a full punishment for sure. How about defending your players who are clearly not having a great time?

Bosingwa cost a fair bit LOL
Ashley Cole who, on his day, is as good left as you'll ever see is out of sorts. But he is your only left back so he has to play. Kalou and Malouda are terrible, average at best, but they are the only wingers you've got. Bottom line is, the Chelsea squad lacks depth.Last edited by Kongster; 02-02-2009, 06:47.

Even Terry seemed subdued which is totally out of character.

I think Carvalho has been the biggest loss for Chelsea so far this season. He is far and above anybody in their squad when it comes to defending.
Alex and Ivanovic have been poor substitutes for him and thats exactly why Cech and Terry are so unsure at the moment. Without a decent pair in the middle who are confident in eachother you end up having the exact problems Chelsea are right now.
