Still, Spain are technically accomplished and so good in possession that it's only a matter of time before they get the break through.

And if they need to change things, they've got the likes of Torres, Fabregas, Pedro and Negredo to come of the bench if need be. Bloody hell.

Confirmed by Capello that Barry will start for England.

I've been watching the highlights, which has been amusing. Some of them only lasted a couple of minutes. The Holland/Denmark game showed one lousy shot as the highlights package for the entire first half.

Have most of the dull games been the ones at altitude or have they been dull across the board?

Brilliant move by Switzerland just now which ended up with the shot hitting the post. It deserved a goal.

Cracking game, really tense towards the end. Well done the Swiss!

                          Fantasticly scrappy goal

Yeah it was good to see. I think it makes England's result against the USA seem all the more a fairly good result.

Yay, Swiss have beaten them and as HumanEnergry said could easily have been 2-0 with that great effort.

Anybody else watching it on the BBC noticed that the noise from our least favourite 'musical' instrument was definitely being muted. Most of the time you could here the crowd (or at least a crowd). I'm wondering if the sound engineers have been playing with their box of tricks.

                              Very welcome whatever the reason.

No hopers having some good results, New Zealand, North Korea and now Switzerland.

                                Good stuff.
