Well, there'll be partying in Sunderland tonight

That's the first Premier League management casualty this season, isn't it? Feels like it took a while.

I hope it's another terrible appointment.
It wouldn't be the same on here if Prinny couldn't whinge about the football.
Quinn and Short owe it to us to keep him affronted.

Cock you, Norwich. And to think our lot went to Goodison Park back in the 90s to support your lot when our game against Tranmere was cancelled. And inspired you to a famous win.

I'm disappointed that Stevie B has gone. His team needed another 14 games to gel, and his 28% win stat was definitely going in the right direction. The old cronies media are rightly vilifying the fans for driving out a man who bled red and white. He deserved at least another transfer window to chop and change 20 players.

I'm hearing rumours that they're looking at Alan Shearer as a replacement, with Kevin Keegan next on the list.

They are evil lies spread by the Magedia. Pay no heed.

                Hughes or O'Neill?

Or the up and coming Lee Clark?
He could wear another unsuitable t-shirt.

He could wear a gimp mask and a strap on cock for all I care, as long as the man in charge halts this dismal descent into a relegation battle.

Steve McClaren is out of work.

                    So is Sven.

Now you stop that. I'm going to have to put you on ignore if you keep saying that.

Those men have no place in a Thread of Hope.

I was hoping he'd stay in the job until Spurs played them on the 18th, I hate playing teams just after they get a new manager. You need to do what we did when we had David Pleat as a "temporary" caretaker manager for about 8 months. No, actually, just appoint David Pleat! His hilarious mispronunciations of player's names will brighten the mood and lift spirits at the club!

Martin O'Neill then for Sunderland. I think that could work quite well. He's not been a success everywhere, but there's no denying he's done the buisness in plenty of other clubs in a worse state than Sunderland. And it's not like there are many better managers available who are currently out of work (cause I doubt the cash is there at Sunderland to buy someone else out of a contract)

At the very least he might buy some strikers in January.

Where hasn't he been a success? Went up through the leagues with Wycombe, won trophies with Leicester, won trophies with Celtic, and got Villa in the top 6 three years running. I did find his Villa team a bit boring to watch though.

Good appointment and as you say there's not really anyone better available. Apart from Pleaty, of course. I think MON will do well up there.

Edit: Doh, forgot he was Norwich manager for a few months as well, thanks Wikipedia! When he left they were only a few points off the top of the Championship though, with half a season gone, so he wasn't doing too badly there.
