Shame the replay mode is so half arsed. It could have been really special.
Still i only played about 6 hours on the ps2 version so its like a brand new game to me. That said if id have played 60 i wouldnt have seen it all.
The xbox version doesnt seem to like grass oddly. Though the heat haze you get on a clear blue sky seems alot more pronounced than the ps2 version which i like.
I still love the very nearly complete recreation of a city and its actions. Im taking great pleasure in causing enough mayhem to bring all the emergency services together in one spot.

Great game, and thank god for the jet pac. Locating tags and horse shoes would have been far more frustrating.
Same here; my save file is currently at just over 100 hours.

I've spent a lot of time just messing around, driving around the countryside etc. but all I've now got left to do is collect the rest of the pickups, all 3 Chilliad challenges and the motorbike version of the BMX course located in Easter Basin.

Oh and the import/export lists. Musn't forget that.

As one of my favourite games of this gen, if not ever, I was very tempted to buy the Xbox version as well but reading a lot of reports that it doesn't offer a huge amount more than the PS2 version, I probably won't bother.

Compared to Vice City, San Andreas feels somewhat strange.
It's a great game, actually one of the best ones ever, but it doesn't really have that special feeling that Vice City had - the 80's, the music, the porno director with attractions to sharks, the missions, the voices, the characters. Vice City was basically the videogame of all videogames.
San Andreas feels a bit strange for me to have the familiar GTA brand on it, since it's more of a "hood game". I was not totally hooked by CJ and "da brothas", I must confess.
All that "niggha talk" gets somewhat frustrating after a while, I'm sorry.
But as I said, it's a top notch game. I've got it on PS2 and for PC as well

Yeah, the replays have just been shoved in there at the last second, or so it would seem even though they've had 9 months since the PS2 version. You can't even rotate or move the camera can you? There could of been so many possible things to do... save replays to Xbox LIVE for others to view, I'd like to see a CJ cam or something looking through the eyes of CJ in a replay, or even the nearby inocent pedestrians cam as they see you doing a huge stunt in the air.

I do love this game, but I have the PS2 version, had the Xbox version does have a "port" feel to it. Yeah, I know it IS a port, but some games take it to the next level and make it worth while having another version on a different console. San Andreas on the Xbox, although looks nice and sharp, you can just tell its hardly pushing the Xbox to its limits, it has PS2 written all over. I'm not complaining as such but more should of been added or worked on to make the Xbox version the definate version, and to rap up nicely the trilogy of games for the current gen.

Boo hiss - The PAL XBOX version does not output a progressive scan signal when using a PAL XBOX Softmod hack, and as a result looks utter ****e!

I might of played this if it looked half decent, but it looks total rubbish without PS! This game joins the very very small list of PAL XBOX games that don't output in Progscan. Damm you Rockstar!

The PC version is annoying me by randomly freezing every now and then. Usually everything will stop for 4 or 5 seconds, with the sounds looping and then it will continue. But sometimes it doesn't continue and the only thing I can do about is do a hard reset...

This is really bugging me, knowing that it could happen at any time does not make feel at ease playing the game. I considered getting the Xbox version instead but seeing that running after playing the PC version is a bit too much of a setback.

Guess I'll have to hope Rockstar will release a patch soon, seeing as how other people are also experiencing this problem I don't think it's my PC. Too bad though, I'm really enjoying the game .

So far SA on the Pc has been a joy although I'm struggling to find time to play it when the weather is so good up here.

One thing that has been bugging me though is why do I lose my respect and sex appeal whenever I load a saved game?

I've been experiencing this game freezing on me almost every time I load it up. It's unplayable really. Anyone else have this problem ?? Doesn't happen on any other xb game so it can't be my machine...

Not had a problem with GTA on the xbox at all. I do have it installed on my hd which cuts down loading times.

You can rotate the camera around 360 degs' during a replay, using the right TS. Yes its a shame you can't save the replays and things missing from the replays such as ppl walking around, shooting etc and they dont' even loop, as soon as the replay is over your back in the game, poor show really - oh well Driv3r still has the best replays editor to date.

Finding the port pretty competent so far and am happy, least now the road textures dont' just like turn into a sea of blue when you're driving fast and it seems it has lost that speed blur effect too which is nice.

No probs so far on Xbox, this time round im gonna do different tings!

that's weird, I know some of your sex appeal is releated to whatever car you were just driving, but respect should go up fairly constantly throughout the game and stay there. Ah well, wouldn't be a gta without crazy bugs.

Came first in an 11 minute long Triathlon last night, and promptly turned it off like a spastic, the horror.

That's the motorbike version of the course, not a motorised BMX

Anyone else noticed when the xbox versions in your dvd-drive, it doesn?t ask for the date/time after the 5hrs without power, in which the xbox when unplugged from the main's for 5hrs+ resets the inner clock and no matter the game you put in it always asks you to input inthe time/date every time, but not when GTAa in the drive.
