[The Game]

You can see the people with copy's coming out of the woodwork. Its all part of the experience of ordering the game and waiting for it to arrive, like the old days with the jap megadrive and import games. People get a few copys at the same time, have go on this and that, then the next few games arrive. I personally believe you loose the experience of true gaming when you have copys.

Have been waiting for this for months. Want the full, official experience... the multiplayer is gonna be the best EVER!! Will be raiding all stores for it tomorrow. Dont care about my deposit... if they dont have it... deposit back and someone else will get my business!! Halo 2 will change everything... nothing will be the same!!

Will be enjoying the "True Gamers" experience tomorrow night, I hope...

Picked this up early this morning, been playing none stop and have a headache as a result

Anwway, the first level was far too bright for my liking, irritated me a little that did. Things kicked in for me on the second level. Totally awesome. Visually so far (upto level 5) the 2nd level holds the best, I just stood at the shore and watched the city/huge bridge in the distance under fire. Listening to the waves and the seagulls...aww

I've been overjoyed trying to grab onto passing enemy vehicles and taking control, awesome little trick.

Oh yeah, I love the new sniper rifle too, the little screen on it which shows what's in the distance, some really great touches to the game.

Need a break though, too much for me right now. So far, lived upto my expectations, that may be because I wasn't reading up on ever little detail and spoiling the game for myself. Best looking xbox evarrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Level 3 had a neat little twist too & I jumped straight into Heroic, not tried any other difficulty. Challanging. Can't wait to sort Legendary out.

What you have to remember is that the xbox is an aging system now. Its natural that graphically it won't stand up against Half Life 2, or Doom 3 running on a PC.

The problem that I have is that there are elements of the engine which don't match The Riddick engine on the xb. The pop up during cut scenes is horrendous and god knows why Bungie implemented it in such a fashion.

Odd you mention that, I haven't noticed it to be that bad in the cut scenes. Speaking of which, one of the Covenent Leaders sounds exactly like the guy who voiced the Prime Minister (of that long necked water race Obi speaks to) in Star Wars Episode 2. The sergent has some pretty funny lines too

I've completed on Heroic, i'm glad I went straight in on Heroic. I feel it presented more of a challenge for sure.

Most impressed: 1 player is outstanding. Multiplayer, however seems.. I dunno. Perfectly smooth and very well done but no Live scoreboards viewable from my Xbox? And I can't join most games running? Whats up with that? Also, why does the game not go intop 16:9 aoutomatically like 99% of other Xbox games (I have to do it manually).

Despite all this the game is everything I could have hoped for and more, graphics, audio and gameplay are all just amazing

Live is fine as far as I know, it's just very different to most other games in that it chooses what game to join for you based on your stats. They did this to try and make every game you play even. Personally I think this is a god-send after playing some games on Xlink yeterday and 2 dudes totally owning everyone else, the games were over in a flash coz they were just too good.

At least with this system you will always have a decent chance.

Coming from the perspective of someone who was never fulled enamored with the first Halo if being completely honest at around 2 hours in I find this incredibly underwhelming.

I'll continue with the single player until the end but I find the level design clinical and somewhat dull, The core game is solid enough just not engaging or giving any aspects beyond what I expected.

Another annoying Live thing is that you can't chat to everybody in the room, only people near you. For example me and my mate held a game yesterday together just us, and couldn't just chat whilst playing because half the time we couldn't hear each other unless our characters were close. Which really annoys me.

Doesn't work like that on LAN games, haven't played on Live. Pressing the white button lets you talk to anyone in the room. If you are in close proximity with a person they can automatically hear you.
