Finally made it into the castle last night (3-1). Got past the catapults, smashed the door, did the swords, went through the door - desperate to find a save point now... Oh hello dudes with spiky shields! DEAD

Another mention from me just to say what I think about this game.

      Magnificent.

I've been replaying thos through. Got all my main weapons upgraded to exclusive level. Decided to sell the Blacktail, and try the Red 9. Glad I did. Stock is super accurate, and the exclusive upgrade gives it more power than the Blacktail. It's like a mini magnum now, everybody goes down

Haha, got pwn3d there myself first time around. I haven't touched this for a day or two now thanks to Zelda (WW) but i'll be playing some more over the weekend.

made it to when you meet the lady - who has some nice Matrix-style moves.

Just finished chapter 4-2, shortly after you

beat the 2x El Gigante's.....and how about the Right-Hand Man, that was an intense boss. Anyone kill him first time thru? I'm gathering you can if you have a rocket launcher or the patients, but I didn't.

edit: and now I have just beat

Salazar the ugly mofo. Man, that was a fun boss. Such a good combination of things to do.

            Really loving this game!!

edit: for the third time. Moved on to the end of chapter 5-2. There were some interesting enemies in that chapter.

Iron Maiden was fun and the regenerators - haha, enjoyed ****ing them up.

So funny tho - I had to pause it for about half hour whilst I went to pick someone up. I came back, forget the area and whereabouts I left my pause - so I unpaused it to resume gameplay and I just had this blue thing in my face so I unloaded with the shotgun. It was the merchant!!!

I clocked this game back in Jan on US import and many pages back you will see my positive impressions. I've played many other good games since then but today I decided to pop RE4 back in the GC as it was collecting dust and you know what? RE4 blows every one of those games out of the water. That includes God of War, GT4, Forza, DMC3, JE, Tekken 5 etc... and I loved those games to pieces but RE4 is just on another level. The quality is just above and beyond what's available on the consoles right now. It is a real masterpiece of gaming. A true gem. An amazing spectacle. Not perfect - but as damn close as you can get.

Even Zelda will have a hard time being game of the year with competition like this.

                Well,

I just beat Krauser!! And, to my surprise, I did it first time with a MINUTE to spare.

I thought i'd had it with the measliest bit of health left and no magnum bullets - I just went lary with my TMP baby.

What an unbelievable chapter that was. At first I found it a bitch - real hard. Krauser got me two or three times trying to get the first piece, but after that it was free sailing.

This is the first time i've played til 3am in the morning on any game since MGS1 hit the Playstation. I didn't even want to put it down now but i'd rather appreciate the final moments tommorow, when i'm more awake.

Yeah i'm looking to beat the Ada level at some point soon. I got a 4* on The Village mercs, need to do the other three as well when I get a chance.

What's the best way to acquire dinero in a new game, then? And what's the best new thing to buy - the Chi Typ?

The CT is very cool to use but does make the game ridiculously easy - most enemies will drop after one hit and bosses don't require much more. But as I said, it is great to use and very empowering to mow through everything knowing you're practically untouchable.

When you start a new game you can begin with all the stuff you finished with. What I did was to sell off everything (including treasures if you have any) apart from some handgun ammo. Then buy a cheapish handgun and upgrade the firepower a bit; you shouldn't need much else.

You can then sell off everything you find apart from perhaps a few herbs and maybe the basic shotgun with a handful of shells. By the time I got to 2-2, I had enough cash to buy the CT and there is then no need for any other weapon apart from perhaps a rifle.

Is beginning a game with the stuff you finish with optional? As I did quickly start a new game and only had the standard equipment in my possession.

I will probably leave it for tonight and get going again tommorow.

If memory serves, and bear in mind I haven't played it for a couple of months now, instead of going to the new game option you should be able to load your completed save game (which I think is in a different colour or something) which will put you right back at the start with everything you finished with. The first screen you'll see is the merchants shop where you can get rid of most of your stuff.

I really enjoyed playing through Assignment Ada; it starts off fairly tough but does get progressively easier and its nice to see the closing stages of the main game from a slightly different perspective.

Ahhhhhhhh thanks mate. That's where I buggered up - as I started a new game.

I'm looking forward to tackling AA - I had a real quick bash but got my head taken off by the big-ass gunner.
