If you mean the scythe wielding reaper then:

Time your dodges... get in close as possible then as wee swings do a jump into Ebony & Ivory which should keep you floating above his range, then drop down after his second swing, lock on (R1) and rattle Rebellion sword combos right in about him. Repeat this till Boss dead, simple!!

If he teleports and you hear him scream he will appear and fly at you, get ready to avoid this attack then get close and repeat the above.

If Cerberus refer to the post a few above!!

It sounds like you just aint getting to grips with the game mate. Thats a shame, cause if you got the ability it lets you pull off some of the most crazy, sick action you have ever seen!! Let us know if your pad does indeed get smashed

However for now, on to more GT4 races
obviously you have'nt progressed far enough to understand how important the styles are.Give this game the time it deserves, and trust me you'll realise just how much depth it offer's.

Just got to the boss on mission 9,and loving every minute! SSS all the way 8)

It takes some game to beat Ninja Gaiden in the frustration stakes- incredibly DMC3 does that and then some!

What a frustrating POS. Not only did I come close to smashing to pad to bits, I swear I almost threw the ps2 out of the window.

Ive just spent one hour and 15 attempts trying to beat mission 2 (!). Forced to repeat the dull as dish water grunt fights, only to try every possible tactic on a boss that I cant even hit. Great fun ;/

Someone give me one good reason not to sell this >_< DMC1 was a hundred times better.
Just stay out of his range and use your guns + R1 to lock on. Whenever he appears near you jump or roll away. Trickster for better evasion or Gunslinger for better firepower will help. Another thing to do is save every time before you die and you'll continously rack up more and more orbs to power up and get more items.

The second boss I had no probs 2 attempts done and dusted ,the one before was a different matter nearly gave up.

A year later I am still at the two electric worms in Ninja Gaiden, nearly done both last night.I hope DMC3 lasts as long

This game is really ****ing hard. I am now stuck on the Mission 5 boss(es). Getting nowhere at all.

The only good thing about having to do the whole level again after dying is extra practice, plus eventually just being able to waltz through the level so I can be owned by the boss. I'm trying to be less reliant on the the lock-on, because it's a bit pants, isn't it?

Also, why the hell do items go up in price whenever you buy sometime? That's a bit bloody harsh. I bought so many health things over the first three missions that they're not worth the money anymore. Boh.

i'm loving the difficulty on this game. It's just so refreshing to play a game that really bust's your balls like this, and it's not afraid to admit it (prices going up for item's)

Right, off to start mission 9 again

Still playing this but have also started the first DMC. Just wish I could change the controls to be the same as in 3.

I can see myself spending ages replaying this in an attempt to unlock everything, its that good of a game

Got this in the game trade in deal. Hated the first one. Wasn't expecting much from this. Well, I was wrong. The cut scenes alone are worth the price, and then you get to excute mad skillz (TM) on the bad guys.

Not really had too much trouble so far, even if the mission 4 boss took ages to kill (because I didn't see the obvious tactic to use >_<). Stinger is a must, it's excellent for getting close and then beating stuff round the chops. Being able to replay stuff is a godsend, I can just go back and earn tons of red orbs should I need to. Plus, you can always keep doing mission 2 and picking up the small green star if you can't be bothered to pay for them.

How do you do the shotgun cancel? Is it worth upgrading the shotgun?

That green star dissapears after the 1st time you get it in mission 2.

I know I still have a few missions to go ,and possibly some new weapons, but I will commit to this view now... Beowulf... Is the best and most visually thrilling weapon I have used in a DMC game. Better than Ifrit from 1, it just rocks!!

Spent a wee bit on the earlier missions getting use to it. Replaying early missions is a great addition and so helpful for improving your skills. Using Beowulf is leaving more exposed at the moment but that happened when I tried all the new weapons. Get it upgraded and rinse missions 1-3 a couple more times and I will be sorted

                      As for

the second fight with Vergil and the scenes that followed... I am happy as a pig in **** with this game... absolute class!! Beat Vergil first time but had to use couple small green stars. Can see Royal Guard being perfect for that fight now that I know his attack patterns... will be rinsing that fight a few more times

Royal Guard is the only way on Dante Must Die mode; the ONLY way.

Hey Mardigan 8, I totally agree with you my man, The Beowulf rocks!, it is a good idea to go over previous missions with new weapons that you get, do you like Angi and Rudra as well?

Music video - the 6 deadly styles - spoilers!!

I did a video showing the 6 styles available in the game.

I didnt use much quicksilver for obvious reasons. Am hoping to transfer the site to a new server this week so you can download all the other videos if you like...

Agni & Rudra are great... used them from when acquired till last night starting mission 13 where I switched back to Rebellion. Got both maxed out, but feel Rebellion is more in tune with Dante and his style so may stick with it and Beowulf for now!! A&R do have some fantastic moves though. Am finding it hard to let go of Cerberus at the moment, but I feel a Sword is a better match along with Beowulf. After Beowulf, Cerberus is my favourite, it just looks os good when in motion and kicking ass. R1, Toward and Triangle is my favourite move in the game. It looks awesome when Dante spins round in the air with Cerb flying. Coupling that with Devli trigger provides gorgeously fast and powerful attack...

Me wants 3 devil arms and one gun (E&I), that would be great!! It shows the quality of the game when I am actually torn between weapon choices. Where most weapon choices are a given in games, IE. The most powerful / last to get, DMC3 gives you a plethora of awesome weaponry to unleash!! It really is a hard decision. By the time this is over I will have my favourite though
