The targeting cursor disappears if you hold L3 down for 3 seconds. It will also come back if you hold it down for 3 seconds.

Just beaten this on Hard now, clocked in about 35 hours with it so far and that's a lot for me considering I only really get time to play games on either my day off or at the weekend at the moment.

In all honesty, Hard isn't too dissimilar from the Normal difficulty. However, having just fired up Dante Must Die mode and I had my arse handed to me on the 2nd Mission - everything has been ramped up times ten.

I'm still loving it though.

For some reason it's taken me a while to settle into the flow of this one. I'm finding the bosses a bit of an uphill slog.

I think No. 2 spolit me with all its easy shenanigans.

Just about to start Mission 10 and am seriously loving this game. Was all going nice, lovely fighting, great action and bosses, but having just finished MGS3 it felt like there was something missing... it wasn't grabbing me... UNTIL, I got to the end of Mission 7...

Fighting Vergil on the top of the tower I did NOT expect at that time (thought it would End Game when you fought him there), it was better than anything I had done in the game up until that time!! The fight with him and then the few scenes after it had my jaw on the floor. This one boss and Dantes Awakening raised the bar and put this right up there along side Snake for sucking me in... Along with Dante, I dont like Vergil and he must die That whole bit with the fight then Dante getting his power was class. As for the him diving off the tower to the kick ass music... speechless!!

Game time is at around 12 hours but I have been re doing earlier levels to get upgraded and refine my skills. It is great how it lets you do that!! Got Swordmaster and Gunslinger level 2 with Trickster and Royal guard close to the level up. Swordmaster been the most useful so far, but I can see that with practice, Royal Guard is where the money is... when you pull off a parry and counter opening it gets your style bar and the enemies flying, leaving you time to set up your 48 move dance of death. Hard to use at first but with practice Dante will be invincible using it!!

Cant wait to finish this and get it played on Hard and DMD mode anyone who aint played this... GET IT!!

See, I'm the opposite, I liked Vergil. In fact, I wish there were an option to play as him.

Oh lord... that is worthy of a purchase for the box art alone!!

Dont get me wrong I think he is cool as **** and would welcome the chance to use his beautiful sword... dont know if I will??? but, as I am now IN the game, I must bring him down... similair to The Boss!! Few games manage to create this link between the players character and the Nemesis, but when they do it grants you a fantastic experience!! You dont want to end them but you must, it is your duty!! At the moment Dante is edging it in the popularity stakes for me. His "I just dont like you" quote had me laughin out loud... these guys are great to watch together.

My Dante against your Vergil Bleeders now that would be a fight worth having. To quote The Boss, "Lets make this the greatest 10 minutes of our lives"

I have only seen a snippet of what Vergil is gonna bring to the table in this game and I cant wait to get a hold of him again!!

Dont know if I am missing something, but I am finding Nevan pretty useless. Re-played some of the earlier levels with it and it blowed for opening up the style gauge. Switched to my Cerberus, E&I combo and I was hitting Showtime in no time (Like that one?? hehehe). Only sampled it briefly but at the mo it appears to be a gimic that I will only used when I get to a Skill adjudicator that needs it. Let me know if I am being ignorant of its power guys as I said I have only sampled it briefly. It lacks the speed and flexibility of the other Devil Arms IMO

Another Vergil fan here. In fact I think I like him more than Dante, love that Sword he uses. Some scenes towards the end of the game that include him are particularly cool. I'd love to play as him in a future DMC game

The game is fantastic. I've just completed the PAL version for the first time. I was never overly enthralled with the first two DMC games, but 3rd time's a charm and brings some of the themes and intensity of Ryuhei Kitamura's VERSUS to the table thanks to Yuji Shimomura and Capcom. Dante out-cools his other action game rivals (Hotsuma, et al.) in this one. Great characters all around. And Yuji Shimomura actually manages to surpass MGS Twin Snakes for sheer awesome choreography. Awesome cheesy/cool one-liners I'll be quoting for months if not years. Even if you didn't really like DMC1,2 you should spend an hour or two with this game, put it on Easy if you have to (unlocks after playing a few stages on Normal), it's liquid style for you and your PS2.

Surpass MGS, Twins Snakes it does, but it still aint topped Snake Eater for movie choreography IMO. On Mission 10 and am in love with the game. Mission 7 end was a great surprise and an absolute stunner of a fight, so dramatic and perfectly pitched at that point in the game. Cant wait to get home form work and get this on again!!

I picked up this game on Saturday and Ive had a chance to play it this morning.

Im absloutly stuck on mission 3 with the last boss. Bloody ice!

Love the game though and im glad Capcom UK have included a 60hz option.

Yeah the 60 Hz is great to run on. Honestly, the only boss that has gave me real trouble so far was Dog boy!! Looking back I can see it can be easy to defeat him without taking hits but you have to be really patient with him. It is a long fight if you do it right. He gives so much time to avoid his attacks you can see what is coming. Just need to assess when you got the best time window to get in and inflict dsome uber melee damage!!

Shoot the ice off all his parts (3 heads and 2 legs) then concentrate attacks on one of his legs. This will eventually bring him down stunned so you can get tore into one of his heads without the worry of getting countered. Takes a while but I found it was the safest way to bring him down without being too exposed!! Watch out for his close range stomps and slahses when you in close and his energy gets arounf half way... he gets pissed off

Having just completed my first run of MGS3, I thought it would be a while before I enjoyed a game of such high quality... I had a 12 hour break then turned Dante on... my thoughts were binned... this is sweet!!
