I think the crash mode is brilliant!

I'm starting the suffer burnout RSI again, gt it last year too, my right arm is starting to waste away.
Burnout 4 seems to be the closest I'm going to get to a decent version of san francisco rush, as LA rush looks like it'll be pap

For me the crash mode is one of the best features of the game. Better than 3 with its silly bonus multiplier crap. The jump mechanic in it is superb... flying through the air guiding your vehicel into the sweetest biggest truck you can find is soooooooo good!! So far I have perfected every crash event I have done and am love ALL of them, no exceptions. Taking down the target car aint about hitting it yourself... as long as it hits something else at some point you get the bonus... so if the crash is big enough you get it, simple!!

Plan to be on live @ 6 tonight as long as other folk on... failing that it will be more World Tour progress for me.

Boris - You may find this is what you're looking for :

2049 on Dreamcast was an absolute gem of a game. Only played Rush1 in the arcade and am quite fond of Hydro Thunder so this pack is a must for me - I don't think there's a duffer on it.

Actually, the game that Revenge is getting me most pumped for isn't Revenge 360.

            Oh no.

            It's Black.

I have to say, this game really gets going at around stage 5, there hasn't been this much traffic in a Burnout game since the original. OK you can bust you way through most of it but there is so much coming towards you or side on that you really need to be on your toes. Great stuff.

Yeah, once it introduces the buses and semis on *your* side of the road, it gets harder; there's some great bits on the Japan tracks where you bomb around a corner onto a massive stretch of motorway, and start traffic-checking like mad... until you realise that there are three buses up ahead.

It has got tougher for me too, I'm going through and getting perfect on the levels, completed 1-5 and am now loving the race crashbreakers!

Been playing the PS2 version (US) and it's bloody great. Looks fantastic in 480p and it oozes the 'just one more go' factor. Tracks are more challenging with sneaky obstacles left to catch you out. And, no more Stryker (sp)!

Only thing I don't like is how they've (EA?) censored the word 'guns' from the Nine Black Alps track. It's not even a good edit either - a five year old kid could do better.

Ive unlocked event 9 now, and am about 40% through the game. Its getting really tough now though, one or two of the crash events are tricky and Ive still been unable to manage any burning laps so far. Ive got to Assassin level, and most of the challenges now will require lots of concentration unlike before where you can get away with a crash here and there. The traffic attack levels are also tough now, I tend to find myself braking a lot to line up cars for multiple hits. Tried using the racing car on a burning lap, but crash repeatedly as its just tooo damn fast for my aging reactions now.

Just below you on level 8 Marcus - Yep have surely noticed the increase in difficulty - go back to 1 and it's glaringly obvious - you'll rattle that Burning Lap np

I'm level 8 now, but am about half way through the level five levels. I find the burning lap levels very inconsistent with their difficulty - much like the other games in the series - I've only managed about two perfect on these so far, and one of those was on stage five, first go, with time to spare. Some of the earlier ones I can't even get close on.

Some of the crashses are really evil too, but very cleverly done. It's always pretty obvious what you need to do, yet actually doing it takes pretty good control of the car. I find the camera is a bit ****ty when doing a crashbreaker though, can never work out which way to go

Loving the game though, best one since...Burnout2. Best music in a Burnout game also!

I just can't understand why so many people have problems with the burning laps. They are the events i tend to do the quickest, just 'cause i enjoy driving as fast i can and nailing stupidly fast times.Thats why i'm glad they've put lap times up online when your loading into the race.It allows me to show people up More online racers should use this feature,it's great. Then everybody knows who to look out for!

My tip for burning lap is literally boosting the entire lap. There's a point where you get a load of boost, sort of 6 seconds into the lap and from that point you have to keep your thumb on the boost including drifting, jumping and weaving through oncoming.DO NOT STOP BOOSTING! also learn the shortcut's,they are vital to speedy lap times.

Loving this game..it's so improved on Burnout 3 and I loved that game, this game doesn't seem to frustrate me as much at all like BO3 tended to do, and this one just keeps you coming back for more. Only 15% in so far but I want golds on everything, had a quick bash on live and the connection seemed flawless! Good job EA!

I am finding the Burning Laps very easy compared to the ones in Burnout 3. The two I remember were the snow and Japanese ones in the F1 car. Nails. Now they're easy, and even getting Awesome rating is simple. Boost, and never let go. Some of them I am a good 7+ seconds ahead of the Gold time. It does take some practice I guess, and like Akira said, you must learn the shortcuts, its essential. There is one in Eternal City (The Italian one) which gives you a 1000m advantage and cuts out some nasty corners.

Speaking of Burning Laps, how many "Burning Laps" have you got? A Burning Lap is when you boost for entire lap in any race event (not to be confused with the Burning Lap event). I have only got a few, but some tracks are perfect for it. Central Route Short F (my fav track in the game) is great for it

I am now on 54%, with all Golds and 5 star perfects so far. The awards are coming in thick and fast now too. I have recently been racing against F1 cars, the Le Mans GT cars, and hotrods etc. I am getting Special Car Takedown awards from everywhere, Tripple paybacks, the lot. I love how they're mixing up gamemodes now too. Not just Road Rage mode, but Crashbreaker Road Rage, which is amazing fun! I pwned 4 cars with one explosion last night I even got a 4-way Takedown in a Grandprix on White Mountain lol.. Awesome
