Originally posted by E. Randy DupreStrider, you got any idea what's being considered for the second pack? I've only just noticed that Puchi Carat isn't included on this one, which has pissed me off mightily - if there was ever a brilliant game that deserved a much wider audience, it's that one.

Originally posted by OstrogI thought the games played fine enough, but yeah, the music was pretty slow. That's the only difference I noticed.
where most cabs run at 60hz
even operation wolf the music is almost unrecognisable and whats with that huge cursor
the intro is missing from Rastan
will play more and find out more

to be honest this is a good retro pack
just been thru all the games and only a couple have 'issues'
Bubble bobble just plain slow
same with operation wolf
rastan - missing sequence with missing music
couldnt find anything wrong with rainbow islands or new zealand story
the annoying thing is especially operation wolf - its slow the music is slow but play operation thunderbolt - its perfect, fast and nothing wrong with it
maybe within the company they farmed out the work to the programmers - just some are better than others
shame really as most of the games run perfect with full speed and no issues
but woth buying - if taito legends 2 has 40 games - then that will be tremendous, all we need is a taito memories 3 with the rest of the games the asian market missed

I'm pissed off with this.
I read and considered everything that has been posted here, and elsewhere that I could find, and I thought:
1. I've been playing these games on MAME for ages, here is opportunity for me to pay for them.
2. I'm not hardcore enough to worry about the Bubble Behavour in Bubble Bobble, and I can get over the fact the music in some of these is missing / slow.
3. I can even deal with the fact that games seem to run at random speeds, that in my view arn't in all cases bound to the refresh rate.
4. I really want to play Continental Circus on my X-Box, and big TV.
So imagine my surprise when I fire up Continental Circus and discover that it's completley bugged. Every other time I play it, the speed gets limited to around 272mph and after a crash the accelerater won't even respond - i.e. you can't even move forwards. Quiting back to the menu and reloading the game is the only way you stand a chance of regaining full control of the accelerater, and even then it isn't guranteed!
I got this version (UK PAL release) from Play.com.
Anyone know how I get my money back?
EDIT: Before anyone asks, I am aware that there is a high-low gearshifter.

One of the highlights of the package I found.

I've been tempted to buy this just for wolf and continental circus... No money though.
So despite the problems, for someone that isn't old enough to have played all the originals hardcore but HAS played them, would this be worth getting?
I have the majority of these titles on MAME anyway but having them on the xbox or the ps2 would be top if they were close enough.

If you can play these games on (the PC version of) Mame then why not route the output from mame to the TV? Its simple. Most viddy cards support output and you just set up the TV to duplicate the monitor.
Its fantastic. Just a shame that Mame has some ms joystick lag with Direct X (well, IMO it does).
You just connect the output to the S-video of the TV and everything your monitor outputs, goes to the TV too. Good for films as well.
Up the contrast, scanlines and about 10-20% blur from within mame32 for a decent picture.Last edited by Afterbirth; 18-10-2005, 18:36.
