Man what a game. Lets just say its got the 2nd best game ending in gaming history , right up there with SAGA.
Sad to say it, but I even cried a few tears at one point durning the ending. ICO fans need to see the ending as it will explain a lot .
In a world Magical and so moving its almost untrue.
Thanks you so much Team ICO

Taken me 2 hours to kill 4 colossus'
First were pretty easy to do, but the third really got on my nerves. I figured out how to get on him - up the sword but then couldn't get any where else. Only by accident did I get him to whack the big circle in the middle. Then it was plain sailing.
The fourt was a little conundrum but the horsey didn't appear to have any way on him so I went exploring. Ended up down the tunnels and when I popped out of one he was looking in one. Swiftly up his back and that one was pretty easy from there.
Man this game is sweet
Also thanks to whoever posted the US menu for those of us with the Jap version

Glad someone pointed that out to me Emir as i'd been saving after each colossus in a new save state just to replay each colossus.
I take it those beams of light are where the bodies are resting? Can you climb on them whilst there dead?
Annoyingly I can't get near the TV for a good while today as the wifes took it overand I don't fancy playing it on a 14" tv

In reminisence (sp?) mode there is a sort of filter applied to the graphics though, atleast I think so, I've yet to try it myself. Another option is the time attack you unlock after beating the game, it will let you play all the Colossi just by praying at their statues in the temple. You'll miss the experience of the journey that way though.

Up to the eigth colossus and really struggling with the bugger. I notice all his legs glow do i have to get into the pit and hack away. If I fire an arrow at him he jumps up the wall and he appears to have a symbol. Is this the first colossus where you can just use the bow and arrow? I don't want an absolute answer just a pointer or two

It's not the 9th one is it? He's a right bastard. Took me a good while to kill that one, and once you figure out how to do it, it's a piece of piss.
If you can get on his back, that is.
I didn't feel sorry for that one at all.
The big lizard in that arena was a tough one as well. At one point, he scaled the wall and I couldn't see where he was. I heard his footsteps, but he was out of my sight. Next thing, his head suddenly appears right in front of me - the fecker was above me the whole time. Got a facefull of electric spit and gas for me trouble.

So, finished this the other night.
Hmmm...
Lets get the not so good out of the way.
Sorry to say this would have been better on either of the other two consoles. The PS2 barely handles what's going on, and the frame rate is really all over the place. The pop in, and draw in of textures actually made me jump on occasion as well as whole mountain ranges just appeared out of nothing. On top of that, the DS2 is just a cumbersome weapon against you. The huge dead zones in the middle make crawling about and even riding a sometimes painful experience.
The camera... Oh, man the camera. Stop trying to put the camera where you think is best! ****ing game! I want the camera here, not where the game thinkis would be best. It's not for the best if all I have to see is the arse of a collosus!
But...
It's still pretty good. It's not the second coming like some people are saying. it's certainly not as good as Ico. The collosi are an impressive lot though, and yes the game does generate a fair amount of emotion, primarily from its wonderful score, both rousing and tragic in all the right moments.
The fights were on the whole pretty good. A couple of them were a bit on the laboured side. I didn't like the last titan with his really annoying tactics before you reach him.
On the whole, I'm glad I played it. I just think it's a bit sparse and, on the whole, a little empty. It doesn't have the heart or soul that Ico seemed to capture so well, and in keeping that game's general aesthetic, it leaves itself slightly hollow.
Maybe that's just me though, but I never connected with either the Wanderer or the girl. The only bit that actually slightly moved me was right before the fight with the last Collosi (you all know the bit I mean).
So, an Edge 8. Seems generous after playing it through. I'd knock one off it.
