This featured on the telly this morning in a 'best of the year' type list, despite not being released in the country! Either the presenter or the script writers were full of praise for it, anyway.

Just messed about with this a lil this morning, havent even done the first colossi yet but damn the frame rate and camera really are all over the place hehe.

The intro is beautiful and the music ambience is amazing.

Gonna wait till i've finished DQ8 before getting into this proper.

Now I'm back from the US having bought a copy there, had some time to play it last night. Did the first three without too much hassle, but then again, I'm the sort of person who figured out Prince of Persia puzzles without that much difficulty

Gorgeous to look at, and very bleak and depressing in the storyline. You don't want to kill them but you have to. You don't even know whether what you are doing will succeed (from a storyline point of view). Guess I'll find out when I get to the end...

The official soundtrack has been released in Japan now.

42 tracks of utter audio brilliance that you really need to own

I just collected it from my local parcel force depot last night - a lot of the tracks are of the 30 second interlude type, and there are also six tracks included that weren't featured in the game.. it's very nice though

I got it delivered a few days ago - I haven't opened it yet though because I'm stubbornly waiting to play Colossus through in Hard at 480p, and unable do that at the moment.

I find listening to soundtracks before playing/replaying games to diminish their impact if the music becomes overly familiar.

Similarly, this is the first game to make me consider buying a component lead for my PS2, because I never gave a **** about PS2 prog scan before.

Heheh, I agree completely, that's why I've only listened to the six exclusive tracks so far

Sorry to bump this thread, but has anyone been playing the Japanese version? Is there any kind of language barrier? Or is it fairly universal like the Japanese Ico?

Yeah, the Jap copy is easy to follow. The only problem is the story. If you already know what the game is about from the beginning, then it's pretty easy to understand the overall picture.

So are there any English language subs/voices?

I was thinking about getting the Jap version as I don't have a US PS2 and don't want to wait until February for the PAL version.

There's no 'real' language in it at all, so it's all subtitled - you will miss out on the cryptic clues you are given, plus the ending will baffle you... also given the improvements they made to Ico for the PAL release I would reckon you'd be better waiting for that.
