On the subject of the Temple climb, where the hell do you start?!

I don't know if I'm on the right lines, but I've found a long bit of ivy that I can't reach the top of yet, so I'm aiming to get all the way up there and see if that's the right path.

On the subject of the temple climb, does your grip meter stay beefed up when you start a follow-on game in hard mode? Or should I make sure my lizard hunting efforts have not been in vain and try to get up there before I finish my normal game?

On hard mode your grip meter will stay at the same size as it was on your last game, just like normal mode.

My grip meter is the size of a fist now so it is time to have a go at the climb. If it doesn`t work out I got the

so I can at speed get my grip meter up a few more notches for another try.

I`ll have a go now and I`ll give you the low down.

*EDIT - The temple climb start point is at the rear of the temple. If you come out of the front and move in a anti clockwise direction you`ll find it at the back and it`ll be the 1st climbable ivy you come accross.

There is more ivy on the temple that is climbable but it doesn`t go anywhere.

Looks like it`s still going to be tough even with the size of my grip guage. I`ve been up to the very upper most ledge where the ivy runs out but I don`t have enough grip to shimmy accross it.

On a plus point though if you`ve completed hard time attack and have the

cloak of desperation. you can just float to the ground if your grip gauge runs out rather thna dying.

On your second play through pray infront of the statue of the Colossi you wish to challenge.

****, I was afraid it was something like that. I started a new game on Hard for my second play through and saved over it so Im guessing that means I need to wait til I complete it again to do this?

Nope, i went upto the statues and it worked for me on first play through of hard mode

I am picking this up tonight and plan on rattling it for a week before using as part of a trade for Ghost Recon and Fight Night Round 3... beginning to worry I will fall in love with it and wont want to trade though, hehe.

Thinking about picking up ICO to play through first aswell, be tight squeezing both in but according to some valid sources (ie. Yoshimax) my life is not worth nothing if I dont play through ICO first!! So looks like an overload of them both this week... quite looking forward to it!!

Mardigan, don`t worry about not having much time to sueezing Ico aswell as SotC. Ico is a nice gental game I thought and won`t take you very long to finish, maybe about 5 hours. I`m glad I played it though before SotC, I think it made me appreciate it more.

I`m within touching distance of the secret garden now, I`ll be in there a little later.

I said in an earlier post that I, like concept had problems with the 4th colossus on hard time attack, I was thinking of number 3, the knight. If anyone is having problems with the 4th colossus, the horse type guy, or any colossus on hard time attack for that matter let me know and I`ll post up my method for beating it.

On hard mode your grip meter will stay at the same size as it was on your last game, just like normal mode.

But dissapointingly it goes back to default (ie: tiny) for time attacks. However once you leave the time attack it goes back to whatever size you'd saved the game with.

I finally made it to the top last month, it is a bit tricky, but easier than i thought - once you know the path - the hard bit is just working out where to go, as opposed to the difficulty of jumps etc.

You say you got up there last month Zed, so was that using the vertical jump glitch on an NTSC copy of SotC?

My grip meter is about 5 times bigger than the one in your picture and I figure it is just about big enough to make the climb.

I wouldn`t worry Rossco, the hard mode part of SotC is where it`s at and also the best items are earned on hard time attack. I`ll probably never play through on normal again.
