I'm always up for a game of PDZ, even if I'm on something else, send me an invite and I'll drop it

I will be on all night from 6 between this and PGR3.
I'l be online quite a bit tonight, and as long as I'm not still stuck trying to get through mission 4 would be up for a game !

Besides a duff level (if you can call it that) the levels just get better and better! And you are only on level 4!

Wow, after waiting for a FPS to come along since GE, this has landed. By no means perfect it still keeps me coming back to do the levels, I have even repeated levels trying to get my gun collection up. For a game to do that to me means they are doing something right. I never repeat levels or games for that matter, yet I 'm drawn to play this.

And you know what, I haven't even started multiplayer yet. I think dark ops is going to take this game to another level for me.

Not liking this at all. Vacuous, all mouth and no trousers. Feels like the pacings all wrong, plays to fast and you end up whizzing past all these potentially great combat situations and fights. Would have liked a more tactical slant rather than the run and gun it promotes. Strike two for RARE for me on 360.

MACO - I'm only on level 4 of the game in Secret Agent (although I have played each of those levels about 5 times each due to lack of storage device to save progress) so you may be a better judge then me , but I can't imagine how you would be able to survive all guns blazing on perfect agent. And the early levels at least promote stealth. Unless your talking about multiplayer...

Finished the single player, and despite nearly every review on the planet dissing it as poor I loved it. The weapons, the massive variety between each level and the way you have to learn missions to complete them rather than just breeze through are what make it so excellent. Two crap missions though (6 and 13) but the rest rocked.

                Agreed.

I haven't enjoyed a fps as much as this in years. Once you've become accustomed to the controls and ramp up the difficulty PDZ comes into its own. Unlocking all the weapons and familiarising yourself with the levels adds to the replay value hugely and co-op is sublime.

Ironic really, I was actually worried it would offer a more tactical slant (like todays 'realistic' FPS's), and was very glad they kept to the old formula. 'If it ain't broke...'. It did need more time put into it though.

My main problem is the stealth aspect, you have to be stealty to avoid 100+ identical enemies swarming on your posistion, but the mechanics are so broken that you can't stay stealthy. Theres no radar, no noise meter, no dark areas. And if you get caught once, thats it..... 100+ identical baddies swarm on you, and you have to do it ALL again!

                    Any tips for being stealthy?

Is there one level that is you are struggling with in particular?

The main thing you have to use when being stealthy is a silenced gun. As it won't send everyone after you if you fire it.

They have kept most of the same mechanics that goldeneye and perfect dark had.
If you are going to take someone down, do it in the head, if you miss you only have a second or 2 to kill them, otherwise they will spot you and you will be stampeded by everyone in the area.

The enemies always know where you are once you have found them, but they don't respawn. So once you have killed everyone, you are free to stroll around at your leisure.

I found that closing a door and standing behind it was quite helpful at killing people. As soon as they open it.. WHAMMY.

                      Lead in the face.

That's the way it was in GE and PD - if you get spotted you have to kill them untill they stop coming.

That's not how it is on all missions. There's part of mission 4 that if you get spotted it's game over, no swarming baddies, no chance to hid and wait for the alarms to die down...nothing, GAME OVER. Whilst I really like some aspects of PDZ, that is just plain bad game design.

The whole point of the game design is that you start from the beginging of the level if you do something wrong.

Funny, I don't recall that section, unless its a part of perfect agent. I'm already past mission 4 on secret. Is this the section during mansion infiltration where you have to act as a party goer? That section gave me no trouble if it is, I honestly don't see why you'd have a problem with it.

The first section does go hideously wrong if you get spotted, but its not exactly hard.
