Unlocked the other two parts of the first mountain last night. Some of the challenges are bloody excellent. There's one where you have to sledge a short run and launch off a ramp whilst dismounting the sledge - the aim being to cause as much damage to yourself as possible. The higher the medical bill, the higher the medal

I really must get Amped 2 at some point; I never got even halfway through the first game (for all I enjoyed it) though as the game is really difficult, so I don't know if it would be sensible.

Pity that Amped 2 will not run on the 360 even though the first one is BC.

Me too. I just picked it up, being a huge fan of the first game, and (bar altering the balance/rotation controls on rails, WTF?!) am loving it. So I'd be happy to carve around with some others online.

The Amped 2 difficulty curve is slightly less extreme than 1 - it's smoother, for sure - and the waywayway faster loading times make restarting less of a bummer.

I have this a quick play and while it was ok...it looked NO different to an Xbox game???

it was a cool snowboarding game (maybe not as good as SSX On Tour - you cant beat the UBER tricks or whatever they are called now) but i was at least expecting next gen GRAPHICS (if not gameplay)...

There's nothing like judging a game in it's next-gen-ness eh? Compared to Amped 2 this version is most definitely looks next-gen...double the framerate, tons more action on screen, detailed characters, bumpmapping galore, etc.

Anyway...I've unlocked the next mountain which is split up into four sections. Only the first section is unlocked at the moment though, the rest need to be unlocked via the story. If the another mountains are as vast as the first two then there's going to be a helluva lot of slope to travel.

Just hold the stick half way instead of full on as the game suggests.

I am loving this. I'm a big fan of the first two games but gave this a wide berth initially because of the lack of online play. It's a shame, but the single player is so good I'm glad I folded and bought it.

The most chilled out game I've played for a long time. And the funniest. never have I played a sports game that clearly so loved it subject matter whilst at the same time revelling in taking the piss at every oppurtunity. Fantastic stuff!

Loved the first 2 and just got this a couple of days ago.

At first I thought it was only OK but after a little while its really starts to grow on you and the improvements in the gameplay and the graphics are noticeable.

Great fun game created with a lot of care and the storyline is mad

Just a pity they dropped the online play...................

Glad I'm not the only one appreciating this. I'm slowing making progress through the second mountain, did a bit of hang gliding which I wasn't expecting. Although I have to say I'm missing scouring the mountain in search of cocky snowmen, but I'm liking the new "impress the spectators" feature.

Very enjoyable. I've rented it, but will probably buy it when it's around the ?20 mark.

The storyline is very easy, but then there's so much else to do. I didn't get on with Amped 2, so this has been a pleasant surprise. Really appreciate the way the game does it's best to let you ride everything, often it's more difficult to stack then ride things out.

Only complaints would be the LOD popping, and the lack of races.

Oh and those Trauma events seem pretty random. I've crashed down on a rock from over 100 feet and get under 1,000 points of damage, yet idly rolled in to a snow mound and got 240,000. Shame really, as it's brilliant fun!!

Still loving it, although there's one rail challenge where you must grind for about half an hour through trees and ****.

                                Its ****ing hellish.
