Ohh sounds interesting! Never thought I'd be bothered by this game, I watched the trailer and I did find it quite funny to be honest. The two guys acting like "dudes" going on about the game and his 'mom' and at the end they says shes cool cause "she bought us Amped threeeeee!!"

Only funny if you watch it, obviously! Couldnt see myself shelling out 50 quid for it but maybe when its a bit cheaper.

i was minding my own business crusing the slopes and some rude person through a snowball right in my face, i was so stunned i crashed right in into a tree . I looked in the manual and you to can through snowballs by pressing down on the dpad, it activates a targeting mode and makes a cool retro boing when you through one, i promptly got my own back on the perpitrator several times.

Sweet...I didn't know you could throw snowballs too. That'll teach me to RTFM in future. There was one event I've just tackled where I was required to grind through a small ravine, the catch was it was lined with people throwing snowballs at you in the aim of knocking you off...bloody bastards!

Opened up the third mountain this evening. Almost laughed up a lung at the yeti mission, these guys must have had so much fun doing those cut scenes.

Got this last week but only got chance to fire it up this weekend. I am enjoying it so far, and I like that now its a much more approchable game than the previous Amped's as they were a bit hardcore in the handling department.

The story is whacked out, and I think only killer7 comes close to how messed up it is!! Very entertaining game to play through and it is genuinely funny. I especially like the 2D pixel characters like the Grime Reaper or whoever he is. LOLZ.

It's nice having the whole mountain loaded in at once, and being able to jump around it at ease, but its a shame the framerate and tearing is **** in return, was hoping for 60fps on 360 but obviously that is asking too much.

Cool game so far then, and definetly one I wished I picked up on launch instead of Perfect Dark.

Only real downer is the lack of multiplayer as Amped 2 was fantastic online, just a good mess around. With the snowmobiles as well, it could of been a wicked laugh. Ah well.

Even if it was just turn based hurting yourself that would of been good

I picked up this today - and subsequently spent the whole of the afternoon on it - first impressions was that it isn't as smooth as SSX 3, and I probably would of picked up SSX 4 if the 'emulation ninjas' weren't still on holiday (I imagine they deserve it though) but I slowly got into it and am really pleased that I got it in the end.
Apart from being hi-def it's certainly not 'next-gen', whatever that is, but I don't really mind, the graphics are pleasant enough, I just wish that the frame-rate was a bit more solid.

Does anyone know if there's some kind of limited release for this?
It isn't listed on the game website, and in town I had to buy it at Woolies after trying everywhere else... weird.

Anyway, can't understand why some people hate the cutscenes (hello Eurogamer) they always put a smile on my face. A perfect pick up and play game really, (thanks to it's somewhat stop, start nature - which I don't mind) I think I might need to study the controls a bit, still a bit hit and miss on decent tricks.

Its weird I've now seen 2 people mention the frame rate, I didn't see it dip once during the whole time it took for me to 100% the game

It just struck me as a bit stuttery when I first started playing it, and I was quite suprised, I soon forgot about it though once I got into it.

Yeah are a few occasions where the framerate dips, but it's such a pedestrian paced game it doesn't really matter all that much.

Well not wanting to get into the topic too much because its forbidden on this gaming forum for some reason, but are you running in HD? Or perhaps you don't notice these things? Who knows. It tears quite often (more so in the mountain front end than the game, but it does do it), and the framerate in general isn't exactly smooth. When I first started playing it I thought it was pretty good, but then you play something at 60fps like Devil May Cry 3 or Ridge Racer 6 and it becomes clear. It definetly depends where on the mountain you are too, as it times it drawing fooking miles. It's nice, but I'd rather have 60fps.

Oh, and I don't have one of those funny TVs that tear either, I am on projector running 720p.

Anyway.. How come some events have rewards such as Gear, Music etc but you don't always win it? There has been a couple of events where I got the Gold Medal, but didn't unlock the reward. I couldn't see anywhere about meeting certain criteria, but I am clearly not doing something. Can anyone shed any light?

Also, is there a way of upgrading your boarder for skills and abilities? I won one event where my railing skills got increased, but I've not seen anything else like that. Anyyone?

                            Thanks!

I far as I could tell, the face off events, where you are having to keep up with a npc's tricks, all give you better abilities. Know what you mean about some events not giving you any prizes - I want better boarding clothes!

So, who's gone for a female snowboarder then? It's the only way forward if you ask me. If you're going to be staring at someones ass for 40hrs you might aswell make it a nice one, right? )
