I should've mentioned that despite the lack of live play the implementation of the leaderboards is exquisite - Challenges I would normally have stopped having attained a bronze/silver/gold I now repeat over & over just to beat you buggers on my friends list.

Got some superb scores on the "do yourself in on the sledge" challenges.

And the first time you look at the map showing all the challenges etc - I thought it was 2D - then you realise it's the whole mountain and you can zoom in/out etc - stunning stuff.

And the draw distance at times is just insane - not the most graphically detailed game but my God it goes on for quite a distance - And to finish, the physics are pretty darn tasty too (I'm thinking of the co-op challenges).

I just got the game, and i agree, its excellent. Lots of things to do and i love the way the challenges are set out on the map.

Also, i must say the music is THE best in any game EVER. Period. Bands like Underoath and Allister are that you thought would never make it in games, but here they are. Great stuff.

And the cut scenes are awesome. I am not far into the game as i am just trying to get all golds on the first section of the mountain before i go on, and those grabs for the media callouts are HARD for gold, any easy way to do them?

Also the art style is awesome. Cut scenes are whacky and fun. I mean weiner land? And they way they did it was excellent. I am not a fan of snowboarding games, but this wi awesome. How it got such a low score on IGN i don't know.

You'll come across various challenges which, when completed, give you skill upgrades such as better buttering, swifter spinning or greater grinding. Makes things a bit easier but you'll have to progress further into the game to get them all (I'm only on the 3rd mountain and will have to go back to try for all golds and the Snow God Achievement).

If your friends are playing Amped 3, check out their online status. It says things like 'selecting a delicacy from the menu'. So much thought went into this game.

I'm a massive SSX guy, but never played Amped. Think I'd dig this?

I'm the same diggler - And I couldn't get on with the first Amped at all so gave the 2nd a miss - Picked this up on a whim and it's superb.

Very different to SSX and will take a bit to get your head round the controls if your an SSX fan but it's definately worthwhile.

Someday all games will be made with as much thought put into the structure !!!

I spent a fair amount of time on this at the weekend and am really impressed and pleasantly surprised. I didnt get into the other two at all, and to be honest prefer straighrt racing to tricks, but this is really addictive and enjoyable. The presentation is great, and the whole thing is put together so well that theres always something to do. Ive got most of the golds on the first mountain, lots on the second and am getting some on the third now also, whilst am about 50% through the story mode.

One of them Im having trouble with is where Im meant to carve and butter my way through circles, Im a long way off getting a gold on that one, most of the rest Ive done with a bit of persistance though.

Ive recommended two mates buy this game, who like me, overlooked it on launch.

This is probably a really stupid question, but Ive looked at that map for ages and cant see how to get to the mountain Valle Nevado which is where the prompt is telling me to go next. Theres no red icon anywhere on the map either..

If someone could check for me Id appreciate it.

Went to main menu and it was selectable from there, just thought it would be a case of clicking a shoulder button like the other ones

Thanks guys, on the basis of this thread I've just swapped GRAW for Amped. Amazingly Game didn't have a single copy on the shelves which is disappointing.

How can I not have known about this game until now?? What a fantastic title, great humour that actually works, nice graphics, superb gameplay. What more could you want from a launch title? I can't believe MS didn't push this one more at the 360's launch, its one of the most addictive games I've played in a while.

I finished the game this morning, loved it. I wont bother trying to get 100% golds, but Ill go back for the other achievements. The ending is superb, sooo cool - bet that had so much fun making this game!
