What the hell is the deal with the game suddenly breaking your combo? You can be mid grind jump with a huge score, and plenty of pink left on the score display, and your combo will reset. Nasty, evil, ****ty bug which is causing me issues with progress in getting Golds etc. Grr.

Is there a way around it? And are there ANY bug-free 360 games ffs?

Hacking my way through the Golds nicely now. There are some real painful ones, like the Kitten glitter and the Magic Circles. Very challenging!

Just did a nasty hard one involving a half pipe in Laax. I came out with Rank 13 in the world. Well I am proud anyway :P

Yeah it's annoying when it breaks your combo, I also wish it didn't break it when you get the awesome meter up. As soon as that happens I just quit and go back to the top of the slope. I'm determined to get that 1 million point combo!

Anyway, opened up the last two slopes now. Going to concentrate on getting all golds on the earlier slopes and impress the bystanders.

I am Rank 6 on one event now which is pretty mint! One more mountain to go and I have 100%ed it with Golds. I have done it last mountain first (ie DC Mountain Lab) which in theory is the hardest, so I am finishing off the game having lots of fun instead of getting pwned by the difficulty

          Works for me anyway!

Christ I didn't realise I had completed the game when I opened up those last two slopes. Just watched the musical finale, must rank as one of the best endings ever!

Which challenges did you guys find the hardest to gold.

For me it was the magic circles where you had to grind at 10 FPS across the trees

and the kitty litter one where you had to get some on a half pipe.

              Pure evil in videogame form

The Magic Circles on the tree tops in LAAX were evil, pure evil. I realised shortly after that that grind tricks exist! lol.. Previously and on that challenge I was just using L+R shoulders to pull spins.. hee hee!

The Kitty Glitter in the half pipe was nails too, but once I learnt how to drop into and get out of the half pipe efficiently I nailed it.

There was one Kitty Glitter challenge in the night time mountain which had me shouting the house down. Not good!!

So yeah overall the Magic Circles and Kitty were the hardest, with the gay snowmobile check point gates being the most unfair. There is one on the second mountain which look be ages and ages to do. Stupidly tough.

There was one combo challenge on the last level i think (its a really short slope with a forest at the bottom and lots of DC shoes logos)

I just couldn't do it, took me ages.

I'm finding some of the later media callouts particularly difficult. I've managed to get silver on most of them but I'm just shy of those golds! Yeah the snowmobile ones weren't really all that hard, they're just frustrating when you're mobile ends up going off course after a jump, or if you turn to sharply on a slope.

I have now 100%ed the game. Golds on every event, with every item/extra unlocked too except the chopper. I'll be getting the combo for that tomorrow.

The only achievement I am missing is the 200 items built one. I don't have any more money to plant anything. Do I need to continue playing to get more? Or is it per mountain allowance? I'll go check actually..

edit: Ah yeah its per mountain. 1000 points for the win

Picked this up 2nd hand last week - **** me it's really, really good - I totally didn't see it coming.

Disliked Amped1 a lot - couldn't deal with it's system at all and for that reason missed out on amped2. This is different class.

I've pumped a fair bit of it already - Onto LAAX or whatever it is now - The cutscenes are fantastic, the variety is fantastic, the freedom is fantastic, the sledging is fantastic - I only wish a few of us could hook up online and play about having sledge races or sledge crash challenges/snowboard/snowmobile races etc etc - would have been class.

I can see this being the first game that I take the full 1000 points from.

Is this trick based, or more race orientated?

There's been no racing in any of the Amped games, it's purely trick based.

I bought this last week, and I'm really enjoying it. I loved the first Amped, but never player the second. The third iteration is more accessible in terms of structure and especially controls. For example, it's now far easier to land a trick and to grind rails. Furthermore, it's possible to do really impressive tricks from the start, whereas stats needed to be built up in the eariler games. This particular feature doesn't bother me, although I would have personallly liked the trickier controls in there, perhaps as a difficulty option or something.

Where the game does succeed is the sheer amount of stuff to do in the game. There are lots of challenges, both wacky and straight faced. All are really good fun, and the novelty challenges (especially the vehicle based ones) don't outstay their welcome.

The presentation is going to be a love / hate thing I suspect. I personally liked the mish mash of styles, even though the humour ocassioally misses the target.

The story mode is pretty short, but there is still loads to do after comleting this. I like the game, certainly a solid 7 for me. It has a kind of Pilotwings vibe to it - quite relaxing to play, nice landscapes, challenges if you want them. Good stuff. A return to the more technical aspects of the earlier games for the sequel though please.

I think it is one of the criminally overlooked games of the launch, I overlooked it myself until I saw it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.
