Tell Glob (@ SUMO) that I said hi. Let him see if he can guess who I am from my forum name.

The Enzo Outrun version is a BEASTY car! Trying to control it is insane, it's too fast!

Anyway, let's get some first play banter going for those who don't have the game, shall we? Let's start with OutRun2 and build: Coast 2 Coast is basically a package built around the OutRun2 SP arcade game which, in turn builds upon it's predecessor, OutRun2. SP provided 15 whole new stages in a new route map, along with a few little gameplay tweaks: each of the cars feels more distinct now, with some feeling a little more tail-heavy than before. The changes are minute in each case, but they all comprise to make SP overall a tougher ride to handle; balancing the car and controlling it's movement in and out of drift and grip states is much harder work this time around. Yet whilst it's arguably harder to control, the game is more forgiving, to compensate: triffic tumbles out of your way in a straight-on prang and penalties for scraping against them are minimal. Bumps and scrapes against the edges of the tracks are also less painful, making the game that bit more accessible. Whilst mistakes are by no means unpunished, it's now almost difficult to send the car spinning and crashing out of control.
To the people who have played both OR2 and SP/C2C, what do you guys think of this? Do you guys prefer the way the gameplay is on OR2 or SP/C2C? It would be nice to hear your thoughts on this too SOL since you are the god of all OR2 discussion.

I haven't played either game although I plan to get C2C for the PS2 when it comes out in the US. I'm just curious as to what people prefer.

Ive only played the arcade versions (original and SP, quite a lot) and I MUCH prefer the original.

Id say the quality gap is comparable to Crazy Taxi 1 and 2, really. But as I understand C2C isnt just Outrun SP?

From my understanding, both OR2 and SP are in C2C but the gameplay tweaks in SP are incorporated into both versions.

                    Definately prefering C2C over OR2.

Outrun 2 was fantastic as it was, but this is just... well, more! It's got everything that OR2 had and more. More cars, more heart attack challenges, more music, yet everything from OR2 is still here.

Needless to say it's pulled me away from Oblivion for the whole of today, and probably for a lot longer!

                      Same for me.

This game is a bitch and so damn addictive, stayed up to the early hours this morning. I sure felt groggy at work today.

I was thinking that today, wondering what achievements could be added to this.

Things like pulling off a 1 minute drift or something.

Myself, I prefer 2006 for all the obvious reaons really, I don't think it's too different if you use the original cars and the Outrun 2 tracks, but when you play with the new stuff it's a whole lot better, I think the SP tracks are harder, and better designed.

PS2 version supports 60hz, and 60hz Progressive Scan.

Agreed that the SP tracks are harder. I'm actually struggling with heart attack now.
