Outrun 2006: Coast2Coast

Hello,

Thank god I found a forum/thread about Outrun! And thank you for telling the shift-drift trick, I had to do all rides including Flagman3 with brake-drifting.

I find the scoring very strange in this game. I have a higher score than the number one position in SP in Outrun Mode, yet I'm not even on the leaderboard.

I noticed the same thing. Personal highscores are only stored in some Outrun2SP modes. Seems like a bug to me?

I figured it's similar to getting the special requests in that you have to do consistently well on each area

To be honest I'm stuck at Clarissa, the first girls map: I've done all normal trips and also all the first special requests with AAA, AA or A. At all fifth stages two special orders are missing, at the fourth stages one special request needs to be done for all.
My problem: I'm not getting offered these further special requests. Everytime I drive Clarissa tells me already cleared requests. Actually I'm convinced I did the stages before not too bad. Is it necessary to finish all previous sections with AA overall, or maybe all intermediate steps with A? There must be a trick a haven't found out.
If somebody would tell me this trick, I'd be really thankful .

damn, you're so right, page 10 . Should have read it before ...

However Flagman4 is incredible hard. Meanwhile there is a fistful tracks I really really hate tremendously.

Maybe someone could give me a hint for my above mentioned problem with Clarissa?

Sorry, no news as yet. Sega will need to kick it off too, so make sure you've mailed them to let them know.

I did mail them and they just told me to disable hardware sound.

Trouble with doing that is that it breaks Quicktime and iTunes.

Or did you mean the more advance stuff like gear drifting, double drifting or counter drift?

Learning how to drift in outrun is easy to learn, hard to master.

Okay I see what was wrong now, my brake button isn't configured. Infact it won't set at all with the pads I have WTF

Actually, I can't seem to get the control configuration to accept a brake and accelerate button. Only the analogue brake and accelerate configs want to work which I don't want... Grrrr what a load of balls

This is the only game Im playing at the moment, and since moving to the PC version I love it loads. The levels are really varied (milky way was astounding), and I still rate those low-cloud levels as some of the best Ive played, its a wonderful effect racing through those clouds and then to break through them into the clear. The benefits of high resolution make ALL the difference to this game, it works nicely with the 360 controller so if your PC is able to run it then its a must buy, even if you have the Xbox one imo.

What's the counter drift? never heard of it before...

Is anyone still playing this online? Just wondering in case it's worth me hooking my ps2 up. Fecking great game.
